"The staff was very nice. We had a truck and trailer, and they were very accommodating with the parking, letting us park in the middle on the grass near our room but out of everyone else's way."
"Looking out the back of our cabin, it was not hard to imagine how the American prairie looked 150 years ago, but with all the modern comforts. This is truly one of the quietest places I have ever been in the entire world. The next time we drive to Colorado, we will make sure our plans include a stop here again. Fantastic cabin and host! "
"For $50 you can't expect a high class experience! However, the bed is what matters the most, it was clean though, a little hard for our taste, but again, you can't expect perfection. The room was decent. The AC was hard to reach, had to have my partner adjust it. The bathroom was decently clean. The bathtub did back up a little, while showering, but emptied after shower. Overall, if you're looking to save a few bucks, it was worth the price. "
"This cabin is cozy, well-built and nicely decorated. It's comfortable and roomy. And the hosts are wonderful, lovely, communicative, dedicated people. I'd recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a getaway.
But there's a lot more. What sets these cabins apart is the location. You are on the high plains and there is nothing here but the land, the sky, the wind, and the maybe the occasional farmer. And what a wonderful thing that is.
I came here to walk trails through the Rita Blanca National Grasslands. It was great! The Grasslands are farms that were bought out by the federal government after the dust bowl and turned back into prairie. .
But I felt a spirituality as well. I should have known -- people have always gone to the desert to get away from the world and get closer to God. I was surprised at how the purity of this place drew my attention to the divine. If you are searching for a place to be this in world but away from it, come here.
There are two cabins with an 'office' between them with a washer / dryer and some other amenities. There are four hookups for travel trailers. The two cabins are new construction and identical. They are sited toward the East so the most amazing sunrises are directly in front of you. And when the sun goes down, the number of stars is scary.
These cabins are highly recommended if you want to escape the hustle and bustle, experience the real Great Plains and Dust Bowl country, or immerse yourself in a spiritual retreat. "
"Quaint, well appointed cabin in a quiet location. Both the futon and king bed slept comfortably, shower was hot with plenty of good towels. Host was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. "
