"This is a perfect stay for just a few nights. Simple breakfast with options, and necessities for purchase if you forget something. Staff was average, and rooms are quite small, with no water pressure. Our room was noticeably damp, and smelled like a wet dog. We would stay again if their one suite was available, and we would limit the stay to 2 nights."

"Gerry is an excellent host! Communication is above par. This was our second stay at Black Mountain Hideaway and it was just as relaxing as last time. The house is nice, clean and very comfortable. We would have used the hot tub but it was 100 so we were already too hot! We look forward to coming back. Thanks again…oh and it was extra cool seeing the bear!"

"The absolute best part about this cabin is the amazing views. They truly make the stay worthwhile. While all parts of the property are definitely on the older side, the price is right, and it is a great overall value.You won't need a 4-wheel drive to get here; however, the long gravel road up to the house is a bit rugged, so a low-profile vehicle might struggle. The kitchen was well-stocked, and we had everything we needed to cook meals. The owner was incredibly responsive and sent a repairman right over the moment we had an issue with the washing machine.I highly recommend this property for a budget-friendly getaway!"

"My husband and I have spent the last couple of summers bumming around Western North Carolina and staying in some really great VRBOs, but this precious cabin takes the cake. The furnishings feel like they were carefully collected over time to create the most inviting and cozy atmosphere possible. We enjoyed coffee in the mornings in the rockers on the front porch and meals at the table on the screened porch with the creek and beautiful Carolina woods surrounding us. If there are things you think you need these owners did not provide, you most likely should have just stay at home!! They have thought of everything. The kitchen is better equipped than any other VRBO we have visited. When we had to leave early because of a family health situation back home, Tony was so gracious and comforting. When you conjure up an idea of a pristine, totally private, mountain getaway that also goes above and beyond to provide all you could possibly need, THIS IS IT!!!"
