Birdie's Nest was absolutely amazing and I miss it already. Prince went above and beyond for our stay; he is so warm and welcoming. He ordered local food for us on several occasions and showed us great local spots for snorkeling, nature, and food. He knows Tobago extremely well, so he would be a great resource to find all the opportunities that aren't in the guidebooks.
The apartment itself was fantastic. There are 2 bedrooms (one with one king bed and one with two queen bed and 2 bathrooms with a full kitchen and living room (with TV with Netflix, YouTube, DVD player, and HDMI hookups). Each room has AC and wifi. This is weird, but I loved the fluffy towels.
However, if you're spending the whole day indoors, you're doing it wrong. The infinity pool is awesome and the apartment has it's own private deck with loungers. You can watch sunset from the pool or walk down to the beach. There are a few restaurants within a 5-10 minute walking distance. You can also walk to the bar and mini-mart down the road for any items that you might need and there are larger stores in Buccoo or Crowne Pointe if you want to stock up. I thought the people of Black Rock were very friendly and it's off the beaten path even though it was only 20 minutes from the airport. Prince also has cars available to rent or can arrange for taxis.
If you'd like to stay in a relaxing spot that's not surrounded by tourists, then Birdie's Nest is for you. I honestly can't wait to come back!!
