Cat On The Hat is a great place to get away and relax surrounded by the peace & ambiance that the beautiful village of Blackheath has to offer.


A short stroll from the village center where you can enjoy a drink and meal at one of the two pubs without the worry of driving or parking

The town also plays host to an exceptional growers market which takes place once a month, live music , incredible fresh foods to purchase from the many stalls that include tastings and beautiful fresh food to take back to the studio and prepare a lovely meal on your Weber gas bbq

At Cat On The Hat you are less than a 5 minute drive to the popular lookouts such as "Govetts Leap", the Hat Hill Road lookouts, such as Pulpit Rock and others.
Also very close to Katoomba and Leura

If bush walking isn't your thing the local village has a large variety of restaurants & cafes to dine at or just grab a coffee.

Gas, Reverse cycle air conditioning, electric heating and electric blankets are available at Cat on the hat to beat our chilly weather. 🔥

Comfortable lounge room, TV with Netflix, docking station for playing your music etc.

The bedroom boasts a luxury king size bed
So you can enjoy a cat nap or a long restful nap with a chiropractic mattress , and of course an electric blanket for those chilly nights.
All quality fresh linen and towels are supplied for your convenience and comfort

The bathroom is well appointed walk in shower, hairdryer etc

There is a kitchenette with microwave, fridge, dishwasher and electric oven,
Plates, cups, Kettle and toaster and large electric frying pan
Also a Weber bbq on the outside covered deck area

You can either eat in the dining room off the kitchenette or open the two glass french doors and walk straight out onto the rear covered sunny deck which has a webber gas bbq.

The deck is just perfect for morning coffees, afternoon champagnes and meals at any time of day.

Blackheath Getaway

My 5 year old daughter and I had a quick mid week getaway from Sydney to do some small hikes in the area. The property was beautiful and easy to check in, and loved the cat themed decor. Gorgeous outdoor seating area too. Thanks for an easy stay!

Happy cat accommodation

Different and very comfortable, loved the place.Only thing the booking platform stated that there was off street parking on site and it was total house accommodation A bit confusing.

Cosy cottage

Cottage was clean and with lots of cat themes, which as a fellow cat lover was charming. Visits from Poppy, Sharlenes cat was so much fun shes purrs and so friendly. Cottage is close to town and hiking, running trails. If your looking for peace and tranquillity this is it !

Location location location

It was exactly what the picture had advertised.....great friendly host and had a visit from all 3 pussycats. The location was excellent if you are into scenic hiking and lookouts. 15 mins from Katoomba for groceries.Cozy place with a beautiful mountain feel...would highly recommend

Great accomodation in a lovely spot

Comfortable and clean, with almost everything we needed and in an ideal location. We loved the attractive interior and outside deck - and didnt even mind the "cat" quirkiness, though we're generally dog people! All in all, a very enjoyable short stay. Highly recommended.

Gorgeous cottage

We had a fantastic stay at this spacious, characterful and charming cottage. It’s perfect for couples, especially cat lovers! It’s very clean, spacious and well equipped. It’s great value and we’d definitely recommend it and come back ourselves.

Cosy, convenient and quiet

I enjoyed my solo stay at Cat On The Hat. The whole unit is beautifully clean and fitted out, with character touches, the bed comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. A short walk from Blackheath shops but also wonderfully peaceful.

Lovely stay

I really enjoyed this cozy space. It had everything i needed, was very clean, lots of space to stretch out and all things you would need in the kitchen. Host was very nice and replied quickly. Was quiet and peaceful, plus close to walking distance to the train or shops. I would come back and stay again.

Lovely studio in a quiet area

The studio was a lovely little place, filled with all the cat pictures you could want. Clean rooms, friendly cat visitors every now and then. Comfy bed, heating was phenomenal and thank you to the amazing owners who helped out whenever we had any issues!

Cat on The Hat was a delightful place to stay. Hosts went the extra mile, with heating on when we arrived, marshmallows & hot choc, and an abundance of kitchen supplies. The apartment was spacious, homely & had a super comfy bed wirh flannette sheets. Highly Recommend.

Beautiful little cottage in the heart of Blackheath

We spent 2 nights in this cosy & beautifully set-up accommodation in mid-winter. It was very warm & comfortable & had everything we needed with lots of little extra touches. We especially loved the hot shower & the super comfortable bed after long days of bush-walking in the magical Blue Mountains misty weather. We enjoyed the quirky cat thème of the decor: very cute.

Delightful

Very pleasant set of rooms, especially if you like cats (the theme of the decorations). There's even a private patio with a grill. Location is ~5 minutes walk from downtown cafes and convenient driving distance to lots of Blue Mountains attractions. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Cute, Cozy and Convenient

We had a great stay at Cat on the Hat. The apartment was exactly like the photos and had everything we needed. Lots of cute touches in the cat theme and we even meet the real life cats. It was warm and cozy in the cold evenings and it's in a convenient location to shops, walks and main towns. We used it as a base for our mystery picnic tour and bush walks. Booking and check in and out was easy and communication was great. I highly recommend this property.

Felt like home

My partner and I stayed here for 5 nights whilst having a little holiday away from Sydney. The property was lovely and clean, beautifully decorated, and so warm and cosy on those cold nights. Almost every day we were visited by Coco the kitty and a few times by Poppy (also a kitty). The property was located in a great place for a holiday, with close proximity to so many lookouts, walks, and just a short drive to both Lithgow and Katoomba. I wouldn't change a thing, and I would love to return for my next trip away.

Three nights in Blackheath

Attractive comfortable cottage full of cat mementoes. Weather not warm enough to use small outside area. We did not understand why the table outside was set with plates etc and would have felt the need to wash all if using. We enjoyed the location as close enough to walk to village.

Quiet and convenient

The "Cat on the Hat" house is a short walk from the station for those catching the train to Blackheath (recommended). There is a covered back deck with a bbq and lots of plants and an occasional visit from a little black cat (if you're lucky). The kitchen is pretty bare bones, but you're a 7-10 minute walk from great restaurant options. Clean and quiet!
