About this property
Entire place
You'll have the entire cabin to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.
This Log Cabin has spectacular views, and was custom-built in 1994 from 150-year-old hand-notched Cypress logs (it was not made from a kit). It has hand-made cypress cabinetry; its decor includes many antiques and curios; and it sleeps up to 6. Please note that the quoted price is for 2 guests, with a $10 per night additional guest fee, for each person beyond the first two. Our Log Cabin has three bedrooms (the ground-floor primary bedroom with a queen-size bed and luxury duvet, a second-floor loft bedroom with double bed and a luxury duvet, and a separate second-floor bedroom with two twin XL beds), and there is also a very comfy queen sleeper-sofa with a memory foam topper for your convenience, along with two full bathrooms with showers—one on each floor). We recently upgraded all beds with new luxury mattresses, for the coziest sleep ever.
Please be aware that our beloved Log Cabin was built in a traditional 1800s style, with several steps to enter the first floor, and a staircase to reach the second floor, so wheelchair-accessibility is not possible.
That said, don't let the country decor or antiques fool you. Every amenity is provided, including free WiFi, DIRECTV STREAM channels, Roku for streaming apps, Blu-Ray/DVD, linens, dishes, a fully equipped kitchen and dining room, washer and dryer, central heat and air and a warm gas-powered fireplace (for both beauty and heat).
Most everyone loves settling into a porch-swing or rocker to find deep serenity on the full-length/screened-in balcony overlooking the forest and nearby mountains, typically accompanied only by the soft sounds of wind in the trees and the birds of the forest. We see deer families visiting frequently below.
For dining out, there is a plethora of nearby restaurants ranging from fine dining to down-home country cookin'; and there is even a local whiskey distillery, with tours!
Nearby you will find Vogel State Park, the Appalachian Trail, and countless waterfalls, along with fishing, boating, kayaking, golf — and if you like whitewater, the cabin is almost directly between the Chattooga and Ocoee rivers. Sightseers will love nearby Helen, Georgia or a day trip to Cashiers-Highland, NC. The kids will delight in finding gold or gems in the mines which are a short and scenic drive away.
Although there are many activities nearby, most guests love the peaceful sanctuary that the Log Cabin is, in its secluded location on top of a mountain — yet still only a few minutes drive from Walmart and Blairsville’s Town Square. We very much enjoy welcoming our new and returning guests each year. Hopefully you will become one of our regular guests, too! You do not need a 4-wheel drive vehicle to ascend our mountain, but you must use only a car, van, SUV, or truck to enter and exit our street and property -- no RVs, trailers, 5th wheels, pedestrians, bicycles or motorcycles. There is room for 4 vehicles. Please park only on-property, not along the street or right-of-way, and please keep the gate closed except when actively entering or exiting the driveway.
3-Night Minimum during weekends, and 2-Night Minimum on most Monday through Thursday nights, excepting holidays and subject to availability. During “Peak Leaf Season” (mid-October through mid-November), the minimum stay is 4 or 5 nights as indicated when you book. Rental is for the entire home. Check-in time is 3:30 p.m. and check-out time is 10:30 a.m. Please adhere to these times strictly, for the comfort and safety of all of our guests.
If you would like to bring one or two quiet, house-trained dogs that weigh less than 50 pounds each, you agree as follows: 1) to notify us of their breed and weight, 2) Dogs are not allowed on any furniture including beds, 3) that your dogs must be leashed when outside and that you allow them only on our property (not on or next to the paved street, or on the surrounding properties, 4) that your dogs are crated or secured on back porch if you are not there, 5) to walk dogs along the treeline away from the home to avoid offending anyone, 6) that you will NOT walk dogs along the pavement or on the gravel area past the power pole, since it is not our property, and (7) that you are responsible to pay for damage/extra cleaning. Although we love cats, they are NEVER allowed.
We normally open bookings for each season on January 3rd of each year, and we *strongly* recommend booking as soon as possible thereafter, particularly for peak leaf season, holidays and weekends which typically sell out quickly. We do have a number of annual guests (and even some who book with us multiple times per year), and would welcome you to join that esteemed and appreciated set of folks who love our Log Cabin like we do...
By the way, our cleaning fee of $85 per stay goes 100% to our housekeeper, Amy; but you are always welcome to leave her something extra on the dinner table when you check out, should you so desire.
We are most grateful for all of our guests, and deeply appreciate sharing our unique Log Cabin with those who long for the authenticity and peace you will find there.
We hope you can stay with us! Union County, GA STR License # 015248

Second time renting… but Our trip was cut short due to hurricane Milton.. love this place and will go back in the spring..
Great location, restaurants and activities not far from the cabin.. great place, quiet & relaxing
This was our fourth stay at this cabin, and we continue to love it! The hosts are always prompt and helpful, quickly responding to any questions or resolving any issues. Since our last visit, they’ve added TVs in the bedrooms, which was a great upgrade for us.If you’re looking for a comfortable, relaxing place—not overly fancy, but fully equipped—this cabin is perfect. It has everything you need, including cookware, an iron, washer and dryer, grill, and more. The view is beautiful, and the screened-in back porch is a wonderful bonus. We highly recommend this cabin and will definitely be returning!
Great lil cabin, great location…8 minutes from downtown Blairsville. Restaurant are great… third time visiting cabin….feels like home!!
Deers will be watching you !!
We loved the cabin and all of the personal touches! You can tell it has been well-loved by their family for decades and it’s wonderful to be able to share it. We enjoyed our visit and will absolutely be back!
Wonderful cabin! Perfect location for many outdoor activities. Close to downtown as well. Wildlife was everywhere! Never had to leave the bac porch ( or front porch ) to watch deer play.
Can't wait to go back !
Very cozy, inviting cabin. Our stay was way to short! Loved the peaceful tranquility of just sitting on the porch and enjoying the view. Will definitely be back.
Me and my wife try to go to the mountains every year around Christmas ( usually to Pigeon Forge). We decided this year to be more laid back and stay on the Georgia side.Glad we found this cabin, it was nice and clean , close to everything, host was very nice and very helpful. We will definitely be back.
This cabin is located in a great area with town and other amenities in close proximity. Beautiful rustic log cabin with a nice back porch and spacious. Surrounding area has amazing views but getting there involves some steep inclines if you are not used to them.
This cabin has all the amenities of home. We stayed for three days and did not want to leave. Very quiet and cozy. Cabin was spotless and the hosts could not be any nicer. We will be bay next year.
What n enjoyable cabin. My wife and I spent a lot of time on the front porch looking at the mountains as well as time on the screened in back porch. We really enjoyed the decor of the cabin with so many antiques to see. we will definitely come back. Also enjoyed the frequent visits from the deer.
It’s a gem. The cabin is the epitome of charming and comfortable. Just book it if you’re considering a trip to the north Georgia mountains. Nearby Blairsville is cute and has plenty of dining options. So much to do within 20 min.

I almost felt like we were back in the 1800s, but with the necessary modern conveniences. So many interesting and fun eclectic things to admire and in very interesting places. The screened-in back deck is the best seat in the house! The cabin is very clean!!!! I could go on and on about this place, because it's so unique. You won't be disappointed if you stay here!
Custom cabin on the crest of a mountain with spectacular sunrises and the sound of rustling leaves from the family of deer visiting daily. The serenity was very much welcomed. Lovely hosts. Excellent wi-fi without issue. The Blue Ridge mountains were amazing and would recommend a visit to the cabin on the crest. Thank you!
A beautiful authentic and rustic log cabin on the top of a mountain. Our family with two children really enjoyed it. For children be sure to check out the Dog Wood Creek Farm right down the road. We put up the provided humming bird feeder on the front porch and was entertained by the frequent visits by two hummers. The Koehler cabin is a place for returning.
Had a great time with our Jeep family. The cabin was exactly a pictured. It is very comfortable and cozy. Just wish it had been colder so we could have a fire in the fireplace. The interior decorations are wonderful. Every time I looked around I saw something new. Thanks so much
We had a wonderful time in this whimsical, cozy, cabin. It was a Xmas/Holiday dream come true for the great-nieces, ages four and seven. There are treasures in every room. Lot's to look at and enjoy from every angle of this cabin. Nieces loved the shelves of games. We all enjoyed the breathtaking views and the quiet get away. Access was easy via a paved road directly to the cabin. We made lasting memories on the Blue Ridge Railway Holiday train ride. We had yummy pancakes at Hole In The Wall Resturant. We spent an afternoon taking in the Xmas atmosphere in nearby Helen, GA's Bavarian Village. We even enjoyed the big storm that knocked out power thru out the mountains and valley for one night. We didn't have to worry because the cabin has an awesome realistic gas fire-place. Barbara (owner) responded to any questions quickly. She also provided us with a list of sites and things to do in the area.Highly recommend this delightful magical cabin.
Thank you so much for sharing your cabin with me and my family , the cabin is very cozy with enough room that you didn’t feel on top of each other. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals and to bathe the babies in the sink. The shower is a little small but the water pressure more than made up for that. One morning it rained , and the sound to the rain hitting the tin roof made everybody sleep in .
