Family vacation

My family of 9 people had great time at Mt Maplewood. Ricky was so helpful before we arrived and although we didn’t need him during our stay I’m sure he would have been very attentive if we needed him. The arrival and departure process was very easy. The house was great and the yard and lake so peaceful. We really wanted a low key vacation and that’s exactly what we got. Recommend !

Loved our time at the lake house.

We had a great time. The view is great. We didn’t get to use the lake because it was cold. The game room offered an alternative source of entertainment during the chilly nights. The host was friendly and helpful.

Perfect getaway

The house and property were beautiful, so many amenities. The kitchen was well stocked and the house had everything we needed. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely stay there again.

Relaxing Getaway

What a beautiful view of the lake surrounded by snow covered trees. A very relaxing and much needed getaway. Everything was just as pictured. The owner was wonderful with communication and got right back to you when you needed something. The home was very cozy and just what we needed.

Great stay!

The house is clean and well-appointed. There’s a game room and a hot tub (we didn’t use the hot tub or fire pit) but they are nice options. Great location, we went to a local vineyard and a sushi restaurant for takeout and both were close. There is also an outlet mall nearby so plenty to do even if you don’t ski. Thanks for a great stay!

Amazing house and property

Lovingly cared for property with everything you could need for a both restful and active vacation! So homey with all the Amenities of home already there. Beautiful view, peaceful environs, boats, board games, the game room, fire pit ....i Could go on and on. The owner is wonderful to work with and very responsive. And there is plenty to do in the area as well. Can’t wait to go back.

Fabulous early summer weekend getaway

My family of 5 loved staying at this quaint lakehouse that balances some modern amenities with lots of lake cottage charm. We enjoyed the lake view and the quiet community. Heads up - my grandmother has some mobility issues and there’s no walk-in shower, only step-in tubs (which is fine, but I figured I’d share in case folks with mobility issues are curious). All in all, it was a great start to our summer and our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Maplewood Lakehouse. Thank you!

Review

Good location, poor condition of the house.The house is old, many things require repairs, the carpet is very dirty, and the heating and cooling system is difficult to operate.The owner is very demanding.I had to spend half an hour talking to him before checking in, and then there were many requirements for check-out:I had to close all the windows, even though when we arrived, half of them were already open.I had to turn off the heating throughout the entire house, but the heating is not central, so I had to go from room to room to turn everything off.They told me that if I didn’t do it, I would have to pay for the heating bills for the extra days.I find all of this excessive.”The location is good, the sunroom offers a very beautiful view, and there is good access to the lake.Overall rating: 4 out of 5.”

Relaxing quick getaway

Spent 3 nights with the intent to just relax and enjoy the fall weather. Everything was easy and exactly as described from the time of booking until check out. The hosts are helpful and very communicative both before and during the stay. The house location is fantastic, lakefront with everything you could need. I loved that the houses weren’t right on top of each other and the trees provided a sense of space and privacy. The sun room looking out on the lake was cozy, the various outdoor seating options were a plus. Loved the fire pit, hot tub and available games/activities. The kitchen is stocked with pretty much anything you could need. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I loved how every light switch had a label so you know what it turned on/off! Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again, although would plan for an extra day or two.

Magical Christmas stay at Mt. Maplewood Lake House

Our stay at the Lake House over Christmas 2020 was nothing short of magical! Ricky is wonderful to work with and left out no detail; we were so impressed with his organization, accessibility, and the warm Christmas-y welcome that was provided when we arrived. The house itself is impeccable - cozy, comfortable, super clean, amazing views, with all the amenities and games (and hot tub!) you need. The location is a lovely wooded area, just a few minutes drive to the grocery store and restaurants. We did one short afternoon hike and a snowtubing excursion to Camelback, but otherwise stayed home at the Lake House to enjoy it as much as possible. Our family of 4 adults and 2 children had (to quote one of the children) "the best Christmas ever." Thank you for the wonderful memories!

An excellent, peaceful getaway

We wanted a quiet week away from the city, and that's what we got! The home is well laid out, nicely furnished, and very well stocked. The kitchen in particular was well stocked. The community is peaceful and well organized. There are rules (namely no late night noise), and the owners are careful to go over them with you so that you understand how to have the best experience in the home. The lake is beautiful and the room overlooking it was a favorite. The owners are conscientious and thoughtful. Very responsive, and the house shows the care that they have for the property. Even light switches are labeled, so you don't have to spend time fumbling for a light or ceiling fan. We loved these details. We didn't get to use the game room much, but we could see how it would be hit for families. Thank you for a wonderful week!

Great Lake getaway

We enjoyed our stay at the lake house! We traveled with other adults and were later joined by our older kids. We loved being right on the lake and my husband was able to walk out and fish any time he wanted to. This allowed the ladies to float on the lake and relax or kayak over to the beach area and lay out in the sun or swim. We made frequent use of the game room and the hot tub. Each night we would sit outside after dinner and just relax and enjoy the view with some wine. The location of the house was within easy driving distance to many activities including wineries, distilleries, antique malls and restaurants. We spent Wednesday afternoon in Jim Thorpe. Unfortunately, we did not know that many of the shops are only open Thursday- Sunday even in the busy summer month of July. We still enjoyed the walk around the area and the local dining. Our Host, Ricky, was very friendly and thorough. There were a lot of items that were provided for us, which was very helpful. The rooms and beds were all very comfortable. He also listed a lot of recommendations of places to go and things to know about in the area. We would love to stay again!

Great B’day Vacay

We had a wonderful time. The overall space, plus the number of bedrooms and bathrooms accommodated me, my husband, 5 adult kids, and two dogs very well. We enjoyed eating meals both inside and on the deck. The house has beautiful lake views, but the lake was closed for boating and swimming due to e-coli from the high temps and all the rain. This seems to be a rare occurrence there. We did kayak before finding this out and the lake is small but very scenic, so it was quite enjoyable! We walked around the development and it was very pleasant. We enjoyed the fire pit. We brought our own games, but the VRBO supplies, books and games. We ate breakfast at Jubilee, which was wonderful, and dogs are allowed on their patio. Overall, it was a great stay, and we are very glad we went! Ricky, the owner/manager was communicative and very friendly.

Best Vacation We Ever Had!

Can not say enough about this wonderful property and our experience in this community. The house itself was spotless, so comfortable and really beautiful. We absolutely loved the room looking over the lake and we spent hours there. The community is very quiet and so peaceful, which promoted total relaxation. We loved the kayak and boat and the lake was gorgeous. The hot tub was just awesome! We cooked out and shared all our meals having used the super well-equipped kitchen which had everything. The bedrooms were spacious and so comfortable. This was probably the most wonderful vacation we’ve ever had and certainly was the most beautiful home we’ve ever rented. Ricky was the most conscientious and responsive host! He ensured a wonderful experience. We have already planned our return for next year. Can’t wait to come back!!!

The perfect family friendly location with lots to do

This house was beautiful and the view was even better, the house was clean and well taken care of. I was very grateful for the number of gates and doors which really helped to create a toddler friendly environment. We loved the area and were greeted with a mommy and baby deer as soon as we pulled in. We were able to utilize the boats and really enjoyed being on the water. The host was so amazing and available, when we couldn’t figure out how the heat worked he took time out of his day to walk us through it. He provided ample amount of information ahead of our stay that we were properly prepared for our stay.

Girls Weekend
