A beautiful and functional central Texas hideaway with large outdoor deck

Fully renovated in winter 2022. Heron House has waterfront access to the Blanco River. Riverside firepit, a great outdoor deck with a cowboy pool, hot tub, chaise lounges, a shaded lounge area, outdoor games, luxurious linens, and spa-like bathrooms. Relaxation and Texas Hill Country charm. A short 5-minute drive to Blanco's downtown square, Heron House is also conveniently located, with easy access to all the shopping, dining, wineries/breweries/distilleries, and events that lovely Blanco has to offer. Johnson City, Fredericksburg, Wimberley, and Dripping Springs are nearby as is Blanco State Park, Pedernales Falls State Park, and the Hill Country Lavender Farm.

Great Place to Stay

The privacy and the view from the back deck is just so relaxing! The hot tub and fire pit allow you to enjoy the cooler weather outside! The house is clean and very nice! The location is great for the local wineries and distilleries!

Family weekend

We enjoyed our stay in Blanco. Great location! I had a wedding to attend in Dripping Springs and it was a short drive to the venue. We enjoyed the hot tub and pool and the outside green area.

Perfect Country Getaway

We had a great experience on this property. The home was amazing and had everything we needed indoors and outdoors. We were only 25 minutes from the wineries, and the backroad is a pleasant scenic drive. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for some R&R.

Nice House

It’s a very nice and clean house. It’s very easy to communicate with the owner if you have any questions. The way to the second fire pit by the river has a walkway so you’re not walking through the grass which is really nice. Would recommend staying here!

Great Find in Hill Country!

House was beautiful and very private! Great patio with shaded couches, lounge chairs, dining table, BBQ grill, plunge pool, hot tub, and gas fire pit. Large turf area for outdoor games! River runs through the back yard! House was excellent and everyone enjoyed their stay. Beds were very comfortable as well!

Perfect getaway

We stayed in Blanco for my daughters wedding. We needed a place large enough to hold all her flowers and in a peaceful area to relax before the craziness. It was the perfect place! With outside entertainment and comfy beds: we had an incredible stay! We will definitely book again as it has so much to offer and the hosts were incredible!

Pleasant Weekend in Blanco

The house, accommodations and grounds were as advertised. We really enjoyed the evenings on the deck grilling steaks, listening to music and enjoying a beverage. The lighting bug show on the grounds at sundown was an unexpected wonderful addition.

Fantastic Hill Country Getaway

This house was fabulous. Pictures are legit. It had everything we needed. Was in a great location close to everywhere we wanted to travel. The host were on touch and extremely responsive. Highly recommend for a relaxing but still very nicely done home getaway!!!

Great wedding weekend

Gorgeous home in great location!

Owners were great at communicating and working through a few hick ups with the check in email. Had one thing that was broken at the house which was dishwasher. They stayed in good communication. Sadly a person could not get out while we were there. The house is gorgeous and has a great location. Needs a few maintenance things around the property, but no big deal. We will definitely be back!

Should have stayed longer!

Paul could not have been a more perfect host, in touch along the way. House was exactly as described, very comfortable and inviting. Great location to be able to explore in different directions. Well appointed kitchen with a beautiful view of the creek where deer traveled every morning and evening. Large patio with cozy fire pit for 6. Definitely recommend and will check availability the next time we're in the area.

Wonderful spot on the river (stream?)

We came with some of our family to visit the cemetery and gravesides of our loved ones gone on before us. The added joy of staying at Herron House that was similar to my parents home when we lived there was very special. We had everything the 6 of us needed to cook and enjoyed the deck and jacuzzi. My husband, son and grandson enjoyed evening talks down close to the river. Thanks so much for sharing Heron House with us!

Worth your stay

From beginning to end we had a wonderful stay. All our necessities were met. Very good attention to detail in amenities such as: supply of coffee, kitchen necessities that are usually not supplied, enough toiletries, etc. The check-in and check-out process was very simple. The backyard setting was very nice. There are many things to do in and around the area. Hope my future short stay rentals live up to this experience.

Exceeded expectations in every way. Easy Check in, reasonable fees, very clean quiet property in the country. Huge deck with multitude of seating options. Lots of little extras that were unexpected, slippers, robes, coffee, condiments, too many to list. Comfortable new mattresses, beautiful fireplace and living room / gathering area.

Tranquil getaway

This was our second time to stayed at the Heron House in Blanco and it did not disappoint. Even with what seemed like non-stop rain the property is beautiful and comfortable. We still enjoyed the view of the river sitting at the table. We were able to relax in a clean well appointed home. The location makes it easy to take day trip excursions easily like shopping in Wimberly and Fredericksburg . The property owners responded to any questions or concerns quickly. Looking forward to another hideaway getaway.

Didn't want to leave!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home. The beds were extremely comfortable. The bathrooms had very thoughtful touches throughout. The home is very well thought out and comfortable and has all the required utensils/pots/coffee etc. The outside area was fantastic. We very much enjoyed using the cowboy pool, and we enjoyed being able to play corn hole whilst having a BBQ on the deck with a beautiful/private view. We were 3 adults, a child, and a fur child and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This was the first time I have been at a vacation rental that I honestly didn't want to leave. We will definitely be back.

Absolutely Amazing!

This rental exceeded every expectation. We stay at a variety of rentals each year and I have never been as impressed with the furnishings, mattresses, decorations and accommodations. It has a very spa like feel from lotions and aromatherapy sprays to robes and sound machines. My young boys absolutely loved going down to the river and finding rocks and watching the deer. We all loved the patio and fire pit. The host was wonderful and available for any questions we had. We will most definetly be back!

Beautiful home outside downtown Blanco

The house is beautiful! The beds are very soft with thick foam mattress toppers, the water pressure is good, and the hot water very hot. The view of the river is nice, the yard was a bit overgrown with no path to the water so we did get some chigger bites and sticker burrs on our walk down to the river. The river was a bit stagnant and algae-ridden where we had access to so we did not get in the river. The cowboy pool on the back deck was nice in the evenings for sunset. The kitchen was big and had most of what we needed to make dinner and breakfasts. We loved the record player and selection of records at the home!
