Nice cottage all to ourselves!
We loved this location! We stayed here our first two nights in Iceland. Best decision ever. Easy to find, centrally located to what we wanted to do, and a very inviting home. We met the owner as he was working on the property and you can tell he attends to his property. I would stay here again and my friends are visiting next month and they booked here too. It was great to share with them how nice this place was and how happy we were. And, we could watch sheep come and go.

One of my best ever stays!
The cottage is dreamy! Overlooking the lake, the sunrises and sunsets are GORGEOUS. It’s situated close to many of the golden circle attractions but feels very remote and intimate. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to stay in south east Iceland.

Perfect tiny home
The setting for this well-designed, comfortable, and efficient property is spectacular. Giant windows on two sides offer views of surrounding pastures, the lake, and mountains. The tiny home has everything you need and all is well designed for comfort. Highly recommend.

Perfect Cottage
Loved our cottage. Beautiful view out windows to lush green pasture and mountains in the distance. Had everything we needed and was a perfect home-base for our tour of the Golden Circle.

Fantastic location overlooking a lake, 30 mins from Thingvelir park. Warm, clean, well stocked with all utinsils needed to cook. Sheep on the nearby farm. Very cute and quiet!

Beautiful views of sunset and sunrise and a starry night. In the morning sheep were grazing a few feet away from the cottage. Really picturesque! cottage was clean, good accommodations, I appreciated the nespresso machine, secure wifi, comfy bed, will be back for sure

Cool Cabins!
Very cool cabins that seem in the middle of nowhere, but give you good access to Gullfoss and other attractions in the Golden Circle. We stayed there for 2 days and it was very comfortable, very nice. Definitely check out Fridheimar - a restaurant in a greenhouse that specializes in amazing tomatoes.

A rare treasure of simple perfection
This place is one of those very rare gems you find that is - simply perfect. Cozy, immaculately clean, beautifully designed as a tiny Romantic home, (or solo retreat), perfectly peaceful, private... We had an exquisite sunrise over sparking snow covered fields & frozen lake for New Years Day 2021! And the owner went way above & beyond and left us a bottle of champagne for New Years! Amazing. This is a rare treasure, in every way

The cottage should welcome our guests by being clean, warm and cozy when our guests arrive :) In regards to us not having a cooker inside the house. We have a stove top for pots and pans, as well as a microwave and a private barbecue next to each cottage. The cottage is mainly meant for light cooking, as the kitchenette is part of the main space. Lovely property, great location, beautiful surroundings. Only thing it could do with is an oven as most things from the supermarket require it.

Thank you for taking the time to write us this positive review. We understand that a oven would be convenient, but it is a small house and we don´t want to use up too much space for the kitchen area. However, we do supply a microwave, hot plate (with a pot and pan), and a barbecue :)

I love the seclusion. I love that they had Netflix because I binged watched Outlander while waiting for the Aurora to appear and it did faintly. I love that the Geysir and other points of interest weren't to far away. I love that the store was 5 min away. I love that the owners were distant but yet there when I had questions. I stayed for 9 nights and I miss it already. It felt like a home away from home. I highly recommend these cottages if you like seclusion and to have time for introspection and comfort.

Very comfortable cabin in a quiet, tranquil spot between two lakes and about 8km from the small town of Laugarvatn with it's excellent geothermal spa (and bakery), well stocked supermarket and a couple of restaurants. Cosy and warm despite the cold weather. Very comfy bed. Small but well equipped kitchen with a modern gas BBQ outside that we used as an oven. Useful guide and information books in the property. We particularly enjoyed watching the Aurora behind the property and the short walk down to the larger lake (Apavatn) to catch the glorious sunrises. Excellent value.

A must place to stay!
I don't know where to start.... This place was amazing. So clean, quiet, comfortable and a great view. It is in a perfect location to all the sights. If you are in the area do yourself a favor and stay here. We could not have asked for anything more.

Excellent property. Great location in the middle of the Golden Circle, and only 5 minutes from Fontana Baths. The property was a great value, and had great amenities, free coffee, and oatmeal in the room. I wish we had stayed at Austurey another night. Fantastic!

it is a clean, lovely, spacious cottage with great view of the lake and mountains surrounding it. Communication with the host was great and quick, the place is packed with thoughtful amenities, useful information about the surroundings (places to check out, eat, activities to do, etc). The sheep roaming in front of the property is a bonus! If it was a clear cloud evening, bet you would be able to see NL or/and all the stars. If we ever come back to Iceland, will definitely stay here again!

Gorgeous, cozy little space on a breathtaking slice of Iceland! My husband and I really enjoyed the few nights we spent here. The unit was sparkling clean and comfortable, and outfitted with blackout curtains (a necessity during 24/7 daylight). The location itself feels more remote than it actually is; you can reach the small town of Laugarvatn in about 10-15 minutes by car, which has some cute restaurants. As far as sightseeing goes, we used the cottage as home base to explore the western/southwestern parts of the island within a 2-3 hour driving radius. I recommend the following: Secret Lagoon Hot Springs (a nice alternative to the touristy and overpriced Blue Lagoon), Geysir, Gulfoss Falls, Bruarfoss Waterfall, Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, Skogafoss Waterfall, the town of Vik, and Thingvellir National Park. Lastly, if you like to hike, the Glymur Waterfall Trail in Akranes is challenging but offers the most spectacular waterfall views. I can't recommend it highly enough.

This property is in a very beautiful setting sheep right out your back door. It is farther away from town but a great place to get away from it all. We really liked all the cute touches inside and it felt very private. We love nature so it was perfect for us!

Must - stay. Amazing experience!
You have to stay in these cute cottages if you are in Iceland! After a day full of traveling this was a perfect stop to relax. The cottage was clean and properly set up! They have induction cook top available with all other basic cooking requirements like sauce pan, spoons, knives, forks etc. We were able to cook our food easily and enjoy it with a view of lake, sheeps and amazing green landscapes. When we arrived we just gave a call to owner and they helped us with keys. It was a very smooth process. Thak you so much for the amazing experience! You guys are doing a fantastic job :)

This property was extremely beautiful, nestled in by a sheep farm and providing stunning views of the lake and surrounding terrain. It was by far one of the coolest places we stayed. The proprietors, Magndís and Lárus, were extremely dear and friendly. Once they heard it was our honeymoon they even went the extra mile to make this stay special. With it being remote there were no dining options except for in nearby Laugarvatn (8 km away) but there were the most thoughtful amenities for you to create your own atmosphere of fun and relaxation. It was also a close drive to Pingvellir, Gulfoss, Faxi, and Geysir. If that is not enough, they even had other recommended sites to explore and offered to let us borrow fishing gear (license required). Our only regret is that we were only there for one night.

The best stay throughout our Iceland trip. You can see how devoted the owners are to the cottages by looking at the thoughtful details. We went as a group of ten (5 cottages). Calm and serene surroundings with sheep walking pass your front door! Great BBQ grills, comfortable and clean bathrooms! Wonderful stay. Owners are always responsive to our questions.

This cottage is perfect for visiting Iceland in my opinion. It is immaculate, modern, well equipped and high quality. It has everything you need to self cater in the remote location. The location is also perfect. It is bang in the middle of everything you will want to see in the south of Iceland. An easy and beautiful drive from the airport and much of the natural attractions are close by the cottage.

This place has an amazing view! Its so cozy and has everything you could need. The only thing that was trocky was how to work thd shower head and hot water
