Great stay in remote cottage!
Karl and his wife were very accommodating—there was a problem with the original property we booked with them, so they offered us a bigger and nicer cottage for the same price. It was in a very remote area, which we loved. Very cozy, and the hot tub was lovely. Communication was great as well. Thanks very much!!

Beautiful, cozy cottage
The property owners were amazing, and promptly responded to all communications. The cabin was cozy and beautiful, and was surrounded by numerous activities and sightseeing locations. We would definitely love to return!

Perfect
This cozy, comfy cabin was absolutely perfect for our trip. The owners were helpful and accommodating. Evening soaks in the hot tub were our favorite. We'll seek this cabin out for our future visit for sure.

Lovely Place
It was clean and quaint, with a great location to use for visiting the Golden Circle. It was quiet but did not feel too isolated and had all the little amenities that made the stay comfortable. The hot water has a smell of sulphur because it is coming from a natural hot spring, so if you can handle that you will love the place!

Quite comfortable!
The cottage is well equipped, comfortable, and clean. Check-in was a little cumbersome because we needed to stop at the owner’s home to pick up the key and bedding. But it was a pleasant stay and convenient location.

Cozy Cottage
The cottage was the perfect home away from home! It was very clean and provided everything we needed for our visit. We even saw the northern lights from the hot tub! Karl had great communication and was the ideal host. If you are considering booking, we would highly recommend!

Sweet cottage
We had a lovely stay at this cottage. Very comfortable, in a great location to visit the Golden Circle and Southern Iceland. The cottage is very clean and organized and well equipped with thoughtful touches. Karl and Jona were very communicative hosts. We enjoyed having so much privacy with the location of the cottage, but we recommend picking up groceries before you head out here. We also recommend visiting the thermal baths at Fontana ( a 5 min drive). Much less crowded than the Blue Lagoon and a fraction of the price! We will definitely book this cottage again

Perfect cozy cabin in Golden Circle
We so enjoyed our stay at Karl’s place. It was a perfect size for our family of six and we loved how well constructed and maintained we found this private little cabin in the Woods. We found it was stocked with everything that we needed and Karl went out of his way to provide detailed instructions and plan ahead for everything. The slight sulfur smell from the water honestly just added to the experience and charm. We felt like we got the authentic Icelandic / Golden Circle experience while staying here.

Perfect location

Delightful Cottage

Quiet stay on the Golden Circle
It was very quiet and beautiful there. It was close to a few of the things on the Golden Circle and far away from things in the Reykjavik area. It was a bit rustic, but it was very clean and comfortable. The stars at night were magnificent and it was peaceful there. The owners are very nice and gave us everything that we needed, including a gps to get around in our rental car. The kitchen was adequate for making meals whenever we wanted and the fridge was a good size for storing our food items and drinks. There are a few good restaurants in the area, and also a nice spa in Laugarvatn with the thermal pools.

Great location
My family of 4 enjoyed our stay. The cottage had everything we required. Location great for sight seeing. There is a sulfur smell to the water, but it didn’t bother us. We did have to pick up bedding at owners home, which we didn’t know beforehand. They were very informative however. Gave us a German to locate the cottage. We would recommend.

Very nice cottage
It was clean, warm and cozy. The setting had good views on a clear day and was a nice wooded area. It is close to everything in the Golden circle and has conveniences close by. We used it as a home base for day trips, which made some days a little long upon returning. It was well equipped for cooking and relaxing. Good WiFi. One suggestion would be for the owner to put a picture of the gate with driving instructions as we were unclear of which cottage it was initially. We couldn’t see the cottage number when driving. The owner was very responsive and kind. Overall it was a great trip.

Perfect clean cottage with a great location
We had such a fabulous time at this cottage. It was perfectly clean and comfortable. The owners even provided a pack an play for our son, which proved to be very helpful. They provided a GPS unit which was awesome for finding our way to the property. It is located in the Golden Circle area just outside Laugarvatn. There are great things to see in and around that area and it also provided a central location to travel outside the Golden Circle. The hot tub was a nightly favorite of ours. Just totally perfect - thank you Karl and Jona!

Jona and Kalli did an excellent job in preparing the cottage for our stay. There was everything we need in terms of kitchen utensils, and the spa was simply amazing. You get all the privacy you need and in a good day you can see the Hekla from the porch!

Great Little Cabin In the Center of the Golden Circle
Very nice location that is literally centrally located to Geysir-Gullfoss, Pingvellir National Park, Reykholt, and Selfoss area. The highlight was the Hot River in Hverigardi. Enjoyed the hot tub daily! Would stay again for sure.

Perfect on so many levels!!
The cabin itself is adorable with amazing views. Soaking in the hot tub star gazing was the nightly highlight. So close to all of the destinations on our bucket list which made it a great home base. Definitely recommend taking the drive to see the glacier lagoon!!! We loved it so much we are already planning our next trip back. Thank you Karl and Jona for sharing your space, it was amazing!!

Ideal Cabin Location
Our family of 6 stayed three nights in this very clean and comfortable cabin. Everything was as advertised. We liked that we were given a GPS with the location already programmed in and a phone with the owners' number programmed in if the need should arise. The kitchen was well stocked, as well. The location of the cabin worked very well for the Golden Circle portion of our two week visit to Iceland.

fantastic wooden house in a private safe area just few mins drive on to the main road to do the golden tour, looked great when we arrived all coverd in snow and we went straight into that hot tub even tho it was -15 outside we turned up temp to hot tub to 40degrees and it kept us warm for hours, would recommend to any one wanting a quiet clean break away which is close to alot of the main tourist attractions in iceland,

Cottage on the Lake in Iceland - 1 Hour outside Reykjavik
We only had a few days (3) in Iceland so I was really grateful for the advice that the owner (Karl) gave me to help me get the most of my visit. The cottage is ideally placed to easily visit the "Golden Circle" sites of Pingveller, Gullfoss & Geysir. We had a rental car & saw all 3 sites very easily in 1 day. leaving mid-morning & getting back by 7.30pm. With the rental car & Karl's reccomendations we also managed to travel a fair bit to see spectacular waterfalls at Seljalandfoss & Skogafoss as well as seeing Volcanic Hekla & the foot of a glacier all on a 1 day road trip from the cottage. The cottage itself is fresh, modern (furnished by Ikea), very clean & in a tranquil area close to the lake at Laugavartn - Which has its own thermal baths & access to the lake at about 1/3 the price of The Blue Lagoon. I can thoroughly reccomend this Cottage as an ideal place to experience the South East of Iceland.

Petit chalet très confortable avec une bonne literie. Bien placé pour les visites classiques des environs. Très bon dialogue avec Karl. Le seul petit bémol sans importance…..faire à manger sur les plaques de cuisson s’avère long….très long. Je recommande cette mignonne location sans hésiter.

Sweet little cabin
We had a really nice week in this property. Karl and Jona are very nice people and everything went very well. The location is really very good. Lots of sights in the immediate vicinity. After our exploration tours on the "Golden Circle" we always liked to come back here to relax in the hot tub...it takes a little getting used to that the hot water "smells" a bit (sulphur)... but it wasn't Problem. We can recommend the property unreservedly. Thanks again to Karl and Jona!

idyllischer Ort sehr ruhig im Zentrum Island
Sehr ruhig gelegenes Cottage für 4 Personen, hatte hier einen ruhigen und erholsamen Urlaub mit der Familie. Im Cottage hat es an nichts gefehlt. Sehr genossen haben wir den das Grillen vor Ort und den täglichen Ausklang im Pool. Sehr schön war auch das Restaurant in der Nähe "Lindin" Die Ausflugsziele konnten zentral angefahren werden, sodass wir die touristischen Highlight vor den "Massen" erreicht haben und uns danach für die wirkliche Schönheit von Island kümmern konnten.

Schönes Haus 🏠 in guter Lage
Für einen kürzeren Island-Tripp der perfekte Ausgangsort. Der Gullfoss, der Geysir, die Kirche von Skalholt, die Wanderung zu den Wasserfällen oder auch Selfoss sind per Auto gut erreichbar. Das Haus war sauber, die Ausstattung sehr gut. Besonders der Pool im Freien bot uns nach einem anstrengendem Tag viel Erholung. Topp!

Perfekt um den Süden zu erkunden
Nettes Häuschen in ruhiger und doch zentraler Lage am südlichen Golden Circle. Es fehlt an Nichts und nach den Tagestouren kann man wunderbar entspannen. Sehr nette Gastgeber, unkomplizierte Kommunikation und Übergabe.

Cottage mit Whirlpool zentral im Golden Circle
Die Ferienwohnung war liebevoll und vollständig eingerichtet. Die zentrale Lage im Golden Circle hat uns viel Fahrerei erspart. An den Schwefelgeschmack beim Zähneputzen haben wir uns schnell gewöhnt. Das entspannende Bad im warmen Whirlpool nach den Wanderungen war fantastisch!

Stunning cottage
These were great holidays in a stunning cottage. The location is perfect for wonderful days all around the golden circle. You can reach everything from there in a comfortable distance to spend a relaxed time at some of the beauties of Iceland. Our hosts Jona and Karl were as helpful as possible, answered all our questions during and before our stay in shortest possible time. The cottage was cozy, and we missed nothing. We'd love to come back one day, because we definitely have to catch up on using the tub, which we missed this time.
