Hidden away behind the Post Office in downtown Blowing Rock you'll find this picturesque cottage. In 2008 the current owners transformed it into the charming retreat it is today. Perfectly designed and furnished to be your home away from home it offers 2 bedrooms, each with en suite bathrooms, stainless kitchen aid appliances, granite countertops, lovely wood floors and finishes throughout and much more. 



Upon arrival you will be greeted by captivating curb appeal with impeccable landscaping and a wrap around covered porch.  The rockers provide a perfect place to relax in our cool mountain air.  Just one block from Main Street you are not far away from our unique shops and award winning restaurants.  Rainy or snowy day? No problem…the Post House has a very comfortable living area with a gas log fireplace, flat screen TV, wifi, and a dvd player. This home has no stairs to enter and everything is all on one level!



Pet Rules: 

Pets allowed with approval - a maximum of 2 dogs under 25 lbs or one dog under 45 lbs.

Your dog(s) must be fully housetrained and current on vaccinations and Flea & Tick preventative; cannot be left loose or unattended at any time; must be crated if you leave them home alone, crate(s) not supplied; pets are not allowed on the furniture and you must clean up any hair in the home upon your departure; Please make sure to clean up the yard after your dogs; if there is a hot tub, dogs are not allowed in it. There is a non refundable and taxable pet fee per dog.

Convenient location to stay close to Main Street. Shopping and Restaurants.We stayed 10-11-25 - 10-26-25. Were able to see the Beautiful Fall leaves colors at their peak. I would recommend this place as it was relaxing and very quiet.

The Post House

Cute cottage about a block from downtown Blowing Rock. Easy walk to stores and restaurants. It was snowing when we went and the gas logs made the den so cozy!

Blowing Rock Stay

This was the perfect place for my husband and I to stay for our Blowing Rock getaway. the location was Perfect - we walked to dinner every night and all around town during the day. Also was close to Blue Ridge Parkway when we decided to venture out further. Bed was comfy, loved that there was an ice maker and the place was so clean.

Great, quiet location

My wife and I had a great stay at The Post House, easy access to Main Street where most all the shops and restaurants are located, just one block away. There were a couple of small things that would have made our stay even better. Better lighting in the kitchen and room darkening shades for the bedroom windows, but very minor issues our stay was great and we have already booked for the fall next year.

Short getaway

My husband and I ( plus our 2 small dogs) had a wonderful experience at the Post house. It was very clean and nicely decorated. We could walk to downtown Blowing Rock in just a matter of minutes. We will not hesitate to stay again.

Great Location

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. The Post House was absolutely perfect. It was clean and had everything we needed. We were able to walk everywhere in beautiful downtown Blowing Rock. We enjoyed visiting all the shops and dining in several restaurants. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch with a glass of wine.
