Amazing cottage with all the amenities! It was our first visit to Blue Hills and it was so
Much fun! I would highly recommend this lovely cottage on the farm!!!
This cottage is small-ish but really well laid out and comfortable. We loved the banquette in the kitchen and spent a lot of time there hanging out and playing games. Thank you!
It was a cute place with a well stocked kitchen (you won't need to bring coffee), but the freezer was very tiny and did not freeze all the way. If you usually use ice for drinks, get some in town and keep in the available cooler. The bathroom is on a different floor than the bedrooms so be aware of that. We couldn't figure out the heat and sadly realized I didn't have a way of calling the owner so I called VRBO. Make sure you get his phone number before you leave since too many things can go wrong without a way to get ahold of him. Enjoy the stars at night and the wonderful hikes in Blue Hill but be aware that Acadia is an hour away.
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The cottage is nicely built and very airy. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return. Sean was easy to communicate with.

Liked: Cleanliness, room comfort
excellent house with everything one needs for cooking, sleeping and relaxing. The only negative were the enormous weeds on the outside sitting space. The inside of the house was very neat while the outside looked unkempt.
Please fix the upstairs bedroom floor! The squeaking was almost unbearable. We thoroughly enjoyed the property as it was calming, well kept and stocked with decent quality cook and dinner ware.
I plan on staying again for a full week, only if the squeaking upstairs bedroom floor is fixed.
Too many stairs. One bath. Terrible TV. No freezer. Temperature hard to regulate.

Perfect location to explore Blue Hill Penninsula
Our family of 5 stayed at Chic Cozy Cottage the week of July 4th - parents and children 15,13, and 11. Sean was very helpful before our stay with maps and ensuring we had what we needed before our arrival. The cottage sits on their farm, Misty Morning, just off South Street and was a great central location for exploring (plus close to grocery store and restaurants). The cottage is beautifully appointed and my husband and I took the large upstairs bedroom and happily shared the large downstairs bedroom. They have thought of everything you might need for your stay including beach towesl, coolers, water bottles and when our son expressed his desire to fish, Sean lent him a pole! Having never been to Blue Hill, we asked Sean for recommendations and they were spot on for us as we like to hike, swim and explore. We hiked Blue Hill which was a nice hour hike that our kids enjoyed. We rented kayaks from the Activity Shop and spent a lovely day at Walker Pond where there are swim platforms and a sandy beach.
We can't recommend Cozy Cottage and Sean highly enough!
This is an architecturally interesting house, but it didn't work so well for us for 3 reasons:
The bedrooms were in the basement and top floor but the bathroom was on the 1st floor. We are in our 70s and need to use the bathroom at night. It wasn't comfortable to have to go up and down stairs.
We like to cook, but the half fridge in the kitchen wasn't cold enough to keep our food from spoiling: our milk and half & half creamer went sour over our stay.
Sean has posted the wifi password on a note attached to the windowsill to the right of the stove. We were there for 1.5 days without ever seeing that note. He didn't leave his phone number so we had to go to a neighbor's house to get it.
This house would probably work best for young people who mainly eat out.
The property was aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. Very quiet and clean. The pigs are entertaining and cute. Most importantly, Sean was very helpful, friendly and ready to fix a minor problem. I would recommend staying here.

The cottage and the surrounding area is Maine Perfect. The cottage is as advertised - clean, comfortable, in an ideal setting. We especially loved the hammock for reading and tree-gazing. Great local produce at both local farm stands and the supermarket and Coop. Check out the swimming pool at the Y right around the corner. We spent 3 days hiking and swimming in Blue Hills and 3 days doing the same in Acadia. We highly recommend Misty Mountain Farm!
Sean was incredibly communicative and pleasant to work with. The house was well outfitted with everything we needed (flash lights, beach towels, a small supply of kitchen supplies, cookware, nice dishware, coffee maker, dishwasher etc). There was also the nice touch of added things like umbrellas, hairdryer, sunscreen, hiking maps, etc. The beds were comfortable and linens were high quality. It was a little tricky with small children, as one bed is in the loft and one is in the basement, with steep-ish stairs in both directions to the bathroom on the main floor, so each parent had to sleep with one of the kids (6 and 4yo). There were 2 large pigs on the farm that came out when it was cool. We were expecting more animals to watch, but the pigs were fun when they were out. We day-tripped it all over the Deer Isle/Blue Hill area each day, leaving after breakfast and coming back for dinner. I think we would have gone a little stir-crazy staying at the house, but it was perfect for us.
We had a fabulous time staying at Misty Morning. The cabin is perfectly set up and had everything we needed. TV in the downstairs is a smart TV with Wi-Fi.
Every day the kids would go visit the pigs and the pigs would come up to the edge of the electric fence wagging their tails. The small hikes around the peninsula and Little Deer Isle/Deer Isle are great. The ticks were out in full force, so always check yourself when you come back inside, but there was even bug spray in the cabin.
The recommendations were spot on as Tinder Hearth and Humblebee are fantastic. It’s a quick 45 min drive to Bar Harbor/Acadia, but honestly Bar Harbor is very crowded and we enjoyed not being there more. All in all, we had a great stay and highly recommend.
We’d noted a complaint about a noisy floor, and while it was unusual it was not a game changer. Folks with limited mobility should be aware that the bedrooms are above and below but not on the bathroom level. On a rainy day the lack of TV etc. could be a downer.
Sean is a great and communicative host. My wife and I stayed at the cottage for 4 nights. We really enjoyed the cottage and it’s location/proximity to daytime adventures. I would highly recommend staying here!
We had a great stay in this comfortable house. It was quiet & clean, well furnished and equipped and had great art in the walls! Its central location allowed easy access to both kayaking & hiking. We appreciated that Sean was very friendly & quickly responsive as needed.
My family came up to blue hill for a lovely summer joint away. Sean’s house was just right for our trip. We enjoyed watching the wild turkeys roam each morning through the wrap around windows while eating breakfast at the large dinning table.
We had a fantastic time staying at the Cozy Cottage in Blue Hill - the house is very well set up with everything you need - the kitchen in particular was amazing - we like to cook, and it had everything we needed, great knives, all the pots and pans you could imagine using. It's also a beautiful restful environment for a holiday - both inside and outside - the house is thoughtfully and tastefully furnished, with lots of local artwork on the walls, and a quiet and private space to sit outside and watch the butterflies and relax.
Blue Hill itself is a lovely little town, with a great bookshop, cafes and restaurants, and offers a perfect base for exploring the region. Big thanks to Sean and family for being great hosts - very responsive to messages, but also respectful of our privacy while we were staying. We hope to come back again. Thank you!
Off the main road, perfectly stocked kitchen, down the street from the grocery store, and convenient to several different hiking locations - this was exactly the getaway we needed. Thanks Sean!
The cottage was immaculate, comfortable, well-equipped—and well situated for exploring the area, from Mt Desert to Deer Island to Castine. We felt welcome, and safe in this pandemic era.
