It was our last night in Bogota and my girlfriend and me loved the hotel! It's super easy to get there from the airport by riding on the K86/M86 bus until Calle 116, followed by a short walk. If you arrive late, you can enter the hotel with a code. The room was very large, clean and the bed very comfy. Also, the included breakfast was excellent, with bread, eggs and fruits. Great location near Usaquén main square and there's also a D1 supermarket right next door. Highly recommended if you want to stay in this area!
We were only a block away from the Sunday Market that we love. Breakfast made to order. Bedding was amazing. I’m very fussy about my linen. We just happen to get there new ones. Lucky us. The only draw back is that’s is noisy with the traffic. We just st got use to it. The restaurants were all so good lots to pick from for all budgets.
Ok the good: it’s clean, quiet, and no one will bother you. If you have business in this part of town (Usaquén) or at the big hospital, Pepe’s is well placed. Check-in is easy.
The not-so-good: The exterior code -locks are a little hard to find, and the code hasn’t changed in 6 months. No trash bin in the room except for a teeny one in the bathroom. Insecure door locks. The room was freezing cold, and there are no heaters. The TV wasn’t set up so it took 30 minutes of screwing around before i got a picture. Dead batteries in the remote. There was no soap in the bathroom. No little hotel bars, and the dispenser in the shower was bone dry. And for much of the day, and all of the night, there’s no one around to address little issues like this.
Breakfast is okay. Eggs cooked to order, maybe some fruit and cheese, and some toast. There is cereal, but i couldn’t tell if the carafe of white stuff i was meant to pour over it was milk or yogurt.
All these issues are pretty minor, and they are all easily fixed. But there are a dozen hotels within 500m that do take care of these details, and for about the same price.
Pepes House has potential, but they need to tighten up their ship a little before i go back.
