"The price was right. Office location to check in is confusing / hard to find. Guests have 2 options, check in at restaurant on site or call # posted on office door left corner of buildings. Owner was pleasant. Room was clean, bathroom, not so much, missing toilet paper. No shampoo / conditioner provided. It's a budget motel. Tub/shower too dirty to use. If you're looking for a place to take a bath after a long day on the road, this isn't it. If you just want to crash, it's okay."

"There was no hot water in the room and the mattress was worn out and lacked support. I left with a back ache. When I brought the lack of hot water to their attention in the morning, I was told “yeah room # - doesn’t have hot water in the sink, you should have tried the shower.” There was no way I was going to shower with cold water. No price adjustment was made. The property has a beautiful view of the lake, and a quaint ambiance. I want to support local business, and I did not want to travel to a large chain hotel in Pembroke, even for a cheaper price. Overall, the Sands could use some improvements. For the $200 price, I was seriously disappointed. Make the trek to a better hotel for your money.

"The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable. The heated floor in the bathroom was a nice touch. We were able to hear other guests in their rooms quite clearly, but other than that the inn was a comfortable stay. "
