Excellent place tucked back in the woods! Nature all around you and a nice quiet experience. The hosts are very communicative and quick to respond. Highly recommend!
Great for a bigger group! (8-12 people) The cabin was beautiful and perfect for what we were looking for. Everything was very clean and looked just like the pictures online. The hot tub was not working when we went but we still had fun! The drive to the house was a little difficult, but we spent most of our time at the house anyways. We had a great weekend and would stay here again!
My family spent Thanksgiving in this wonderful home. We did everything from roasting s'mores together, ping pong tournaments, from playing board/card games all night long. The area was beautiful and the cabin was clean and just as described in the listing. Ground the sound of the creek to the crackle of the fire, it truly was the perfect cozy canning for our big family. Lauren was great about responding back when we had question's about the property. The cabin is very well stocked from the kitchen to the game cabinet. I 100% recommend this cabin if you’re looking for quality family time!
Excellent place out-of-the-way enough to feel very private. Wonderful stream—just big enough to be a lot of fun for the kids, but not so big we had to worry about them. Family get together with 8 kids infant through 13–they loved it! The adults enjoyed it as well. This was just what we were trying to find for our vacation.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!! We vacationed here with 4 generations for a family vacation. The house was wonderful and we enjoyed the property very much from the pond to the creek next to the house. The owners have fixed a lovely area down by the creek where we built a fire and played in the creek. Lots of privacy and room to play making this a vacation to remember. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home and property.
We spent 5 nights here with our 5 kids and some of our friends and their 3 kids! The property was gorgeous! The house was perfect, clean, spacious yet cozy! We loved the big kitchen! The kids loved exploring and playing ping pong when they came in. The only reason this wasn’t a 5 star review was bc we had some water pressure issues but the owner was super quick to get back with us and send someone to out!! We would definitely recommend the creekside cabin!
One of my oldest friends got married this weekend and it was a wide spread opinion amongst all individuals at this home and others in the area, that staying at this house was by far the easiest and most peaceful part of our trip. We barely wanted to leave this house it was such a great place to stay! The owners left clear instructions and guidelines for all amenities that there were never any rogue questions on any aspect of our stay. I hope they will have me back again one day under less chaotic circumstances so that I may enjoy it more thoroughly (:
This was my second time staying in this mountain house, just with a different group of friends. We had an awesome time. The house is beautiful and well stocked. The owner was responsive when we had a minor issue come up. We would definitely stay here again.
Perfect location for those that like we seclusion. You won’t see another person/neighbor. The creek and pond was a hit with our kids. The cabin was extremely nice and clean. Close to Boone and Watauga River. The boys were able to catch some trout on fly rods at the Watauga. Great trip and looking forward to booking again soon.
My friends and I went to this property to celebrate a birthday and held a summer camp style field day on the mowed field with relay races and tug of war! The house was beautiful and the kitchen was very well stocked for cooking(:
Our large family group created treasured memories at this clean and spacious mountain retreat! The large property with a pond and creek offered hours of fun. The game room and hot tub provided lots of fun as well! VRBO offered easy booking and the property owner offered direct communication which was convenient and comforting.
This property was perfect for our stay. Very private property with terrific pond and creek to relax beside. We look forward to the next opportunity to come back.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in
Disliked: Location, listing accuracy
Very Disappointing
The property advertises (and no less charges for) amenities such as a hot tub. We were notified 4 minutes after check-in time that the hot tub was "not working" (only to arrive and find no water in the hot tub whatsoever). There was also no firewood provided for the wood burning fireplaces which for this kind of money per night seemed wrong. Finally, the ad does not mention the incredibly dangerous terrain you must navigate to get to the house. We required a tow truck to get out, having to leave other 4X4 vehicles at the bottom of the several mile hike into the residence. Be aware there are cameras everywhere and the owner will message you through Vrbo which seemed creepy. Do not recommend.
We loved our time at the Creekside cabin! Beautiful house, good communication with the owners and full winter experience while we were there. It snowed our entire visit.
I would say you need 4 wheel drive vehicle is needed to access the property. We did have to get a 4 wheel drive vehicle towed that had issues getting up the driveway- but we did have snow all during our stay and cold weather that kept the ground and driveway frozen.
We would recommend this home to rent to families or anyone else- close to Boone and Hawksnest snow tubing.
It was the perfect get-a-away for celebrating our parent's 50th wedding anniversary! We felt like we were in a tree house and the kids loved having the creek and paths to play in/on. We filled the house to max capacity and still felt like we had plenty of room to all be together.
I stayed her with 5 of my close lifelong friends to celebrate 3 of our birthdays. We were all blown away by the beautiful cabin and it’s incredible surrounding property. The cabin had more than enough room and was well stocked. The property owner was always very quick on any questions I had before our arrival. We all said we would definitely stay here again. A must see!!!!
We stayed at this beautiful cabin for 6 nights to celebrate my granddaughters 6th birthday. The cabin is beautiful and very spacious. The information provided by the owner with directions to the cabin and how to operate items in the home was wonderful. It left no guess work once we arrived. I will say the drive up to the cabin is a bit treacherous but manageable. It is very secluded and private. We had a great time and would definitely rent again.
