About this property

Historic Estate on a private pond

  • Step back in time at Meadow Views on Wade Pond, a beautifully updated 1820s farmhouse surrounded by peaceful meadows, conservation land, and beautiful pond views. Originally belonging to the prominent Boothbay Adams family, this historic home blends old-fashioned New England charm with the comforts of modern living. Nestled between Adams Pond and Wade Pond, it`s a wonderful spot for a relaxing getaway, with plenty of room for family and friends.

The home offers five bedrooms and three bathrooms, with a variety of sleeping arrangements for everyone. There are two bedrooms with king beds, one bedroom with twin bunk beds, a first-floor bedroom with a twin bed, and a spacious third-floor loft with a queen bed, two twin beds, and a cozy seating area with a TV. The home also has plenty for little ones, including a pack `n play, highchair, toys, books, and more.

The first-floor den is a great place to gather after a day of exploring, complete with a large smart TV for family movie nights. The newly renovated eat-in kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to prepare meals and enjoy time together. For dining outdoors, fire up the propane grill on the large back deck, where you`ll also find plenty of space to relax and take in the beautiful views of Wade Pond.

Outside, there`s plenty of room to enjoy the Maine summer. The flat grassy front yard is perfect for lawn games, while the backyard fire pit is a great spot to unwind under the stars. Guests can also enjoy the kayak and canoe provided for exploring Wade Pond right from the backyard or heading across the street to Adams Pond. Life jackets are available for your use as well.

Although the home feels like a peaceful retreat, you`re still just a short drive from everything the Boothbay region has to offer. Downtown Boothbay Harbor, with its shops, restaurants, and sailing excursions, is only about six minutes away. Knickerbocker Lake is just five minutes down the road for a freshwater swim, and Hendricks Head Beach is about a 15-minute drive. The Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens are also nearby and well worth a visit, especially to see the famous giant trolls tucked throughout the gardens. For a casual evening out, the Boothbay Craft Brewery is just a 10-minute walk away, offering craft beer and delicious food.

With its historic charm, beautiful pond views, and plenty of space to gather, Meadow Views on Wade Pond is a wonderful place to slow down, explore the coast, and make lasting Maine memories.

Please note that, like many historic New England homes, this property does not have central air conditioning. The owners have installed a window AC unit in the third-floor loft, which can get a bit warmer as heat rises, but the rest of the home generally stays quite comfortable.

Really large home great for very large families and families that enjoy larger spaces. Very considerate set up for mulitple families or couples or people traveling with families. Our pup enjoyed and appreciated the ability to feel right at home and stretch her paws in the fully fenced in yard. Our little ones enjoyed the open spaces to play and the many assortments of toys and board games for all of us to play together.Overall great amenities and located on what felt like a private road but still close enough to downtown.

Fun for all

What a wonderful property! Everyone in our group (ages 6-81) thoroughly enjoyed their stay. A bathroom on every floor was so helpful. Very well-appointed with just about everything we needed. Location was perfect for us. Hope to make it back and stay again.

First, Judy was an angel helping us, met us on time at the house, walked us through. Made sure we had everything, communicated how to get in touch if needed. I can not say enough about how amazing you all are! Thank you. We will be rebooking for later this summer and years to come!!
