Very cozy bed and breakfast, with excellent staff. The place was clean and well-maintained. I liked it a lot. Only caveat is that they do not have an elevator, so be mindful that you may have to go up a couple flights of stairs.

Irving House is in a good location close to what we wanted to see. Breakfast was good with lots of choices. There is a laundry area but we did not use it. Quiet at night. I’m BeReal we would stay there again.

Pro: great location, easy check in and check out, friendly staff. Con: dingy carpet and floor; poor noise insulation from neighboring rooms and hallway. I recommend requesting a room on the upper 4th floor and away from the stairs to minimize noise of people going in/out and up/down at all hours, especially because the shared bathrooms are in the hallway.

I should have read the posted comments; Climbing 2 long sets of steep stairs was a strong negative for me, since although I walk a brisk mile 3 times a week, I was very winded after carrying 2 bags up those stairs. No elevator available. Clean, good breakfast and fine for those under, say, 55 who like nostalgia; not for one in his 80s.

Great place to stay. Very clean rooms, great breakfast and great staff. Walkable to Harvard Square and very close to bus stops and 10 minutes walk to T stop. Had European vibes. Just a heads up: Rooms and bathrooms are smaller compared to regular chain hotels. If you don’t mind that this is an excellent place to stay.

It was quaint and comfortably within expectations for a bed and breakfast in a former residential structure. The complimentary breakfast was a pleasant, surprising blend of availability and regional approach to those offerings. We'd stay there again.

This is a comfortable, value oriented stay for someone that does not want to pay much much more for an overnight stay. I was comfortable and the breakfast was good. I will definitely come here again. Staff were very friendly.

Very good selection of items for breakfast for a bed and breakfast. Very good location, close to Harvard, but with near connections to main local transit routes. Staff was extremely helpful and supportive and rooms were very clean.

The B&B is old. This translates that YOU are your own porter, climbing to the 2nd, 3rd or 4th floors. They say they have AC, but it's for the entire floor, so you have no control. Our room was sweltering and they turned the AC down and gave us a fan. Unfortunately it was still too hot for us. Opening the window seemed like a good option, but no air came in unless our door was proped open-we were desprate, so we did it. The bathroom didn't have a fan, so showering added to the the already hot room. It had that old, musty smell. Loved the location, Bed was comfortable, shower was good, hotel was quiet at night, staff is helpful, breakfast was very good.

Love this traditional B&B. Stayed for two nights for meetings. Breakfast is the highlight and the staff is really helpful. Location is also the best. Love walking around Harvard yard and Harvard square. Will stay again for sure.
