Love how easy it is to stay at the Sheraton Commander. Lots of food near by, and Nubar is great. Charles River and Harvard just a few blocks away.

This is a Cambridge landmark that Sheraton has done a nice job of cleaning up and applying a fresh coat of paint, although the "restaurant" isn't much more than a serviceable place to grab something convenient, and the rooms are clean and reasonably well appointed. My bathroom was so small that the door wouldn't open all the way because it knocked into the toilet (don't ask how they could have passed code because i can;t imagine they did).

wonderful stay- def coming back!
Everyone was very accommodating. I was expecting the property to be dated, but it was really wonderful, old world but updated. Highly recommend.

We paid almost $900 for the night before commencement. We stayed at room 111 and it was the worst experience ever. Every 15 minutes or so, there would be this loud whirring sound that made it impossible for us to fall asleep. Felt horrible for my entire graduation day because of lack of sleep. Will definitely NOT stay at this hotel again.

The location of the Commander cannot be beat. You can easily walk to anywhere on Harvard's campus and the valet parking is very convenient. Rooms are nicely presented amd very clean.

This quaint hotel is situated close to the law school, business school, and graduate school of education. The staff is friendly and warm and the rooms are cozy.

This hotel used to feel elegant, but not anymore. Our bathroom was cramped, our room decor was drab (brown and taupe), and the artwork on the walls is a mishmash (colonial Grecian urn 1920s??) Cheap hotel chains offer more bathroom amenities and less expensive breakfast buffets. Valet parking is overpriced but they get away with it because parking is so scarce in Cambridge. No room service. On the plus side, the hotel is very clean and our bed was very comfortable. Didn’t try the restaurant

The location is great! Less than a 10 min walk to Harvard square. As for the hotel the staff was excellent and friendly. The room was clean, but dated. If you’re looking for a comfortable bed and minimal amenities then this is a good hotel based on location.

I didn’t like the hard to get to the hotel, no space for parking and the valet service is a joke!!! For $45 dollars a night is so expensive!!! The service is awful, but wen I get to check in the lady in the front desk didn’t greet me. …. She was so rude and with a really bad attitude!!! Sadly I have a car accident going to the hotel but she didn’t even care about that… the elevator is a joke and there are no safety control of any kind!!! That elevator nearly fit 3 people!!! And forget it if you have a big luggage it won’t fit… the room are renovated but have a old smell…,like something is humid, the bathroom is so small you cannot use the toilet properly!!!there where no bathrooms toiletries!!! We have to ask for it. The place smells like a fish market from the restaurant in the 1st floor, we cannot even have water because we have to pay for it $4 for water!!!! So bad experience!!!🙁 extremely desapointing!!!

Wish the room had 2 queen beds instead of 2 double beds. Also, we had 4 people staying in room. We were given 3 bath towels, 2 cups for coffee. Doesn’t work for 4 people. Dined at Nubar for the first time. Excellent service and good food. Have stayed at Commander hotel before and will stay there again.

Beautiful hotel with modern rooms in a historic building, a few blocks from the center of Harvard Square. Half the price of the hotel we'd previously stayed in.

Great location for going to a Harvard football gam
Great hotel and location. We were there for the Yale vs Harvard football game. This is a great location and and easy walk to the stadium.

It’s a lovely hotel, the rooms were very spacious, the renovation kept the historical elements nicely, my only quibbles were the elevators are tiny!! Also the heating and cooling were overly zealous so I was either burning up or freezing. The location is impeccable and I would stay again

It's a great location and an interesting, good hotel. However, I would never stay there again. We reserved a king bed and w/out explanation or comment, were given a smaller bed. We are both tall and I would never had booked a smaller bed. I didn't actually notice until we went to bed. The sheets were scratchy/rough. Other than those deal breakers, the room was wonderful. A word about the breakfast - plan to eat elsewhere. For $26, you get the same as a Holiday Inn free breakfast - cantelope/honeydew; small selection of yogurt in to-go cups, eggs and bacon in warming trays. We decided to have coffee and eat somewhere else. I would have been happy to buy a lovely breakfast for much more $ than that, but I'm not paying $26 for scrambled eggs in a warmer. ps the excuse for the the smaller bed was that "you booked through a third-party site" business that staff tends to say as if you have done something underhanded or tacky. I haven't heard that one in years. Hotels have adjusted to Expedia, etc. Not cool.
