The only down side was the property wasn’t cleaned very well - old used contact lenses around the desk and bedside table and there was hairs on the bathroom shelf. I did a quick clean myself and throughly enjoyed the rest of our week the location was perfect and our lodge was next to the pond which was lovely."

"We spent a one night stay at Armathwaite Hall Hotel and immediately wished it was for longer...The reception staff were exceptionally welcoming, indeed all staff were friendly and helpful. Fortunately, the Lake View resturant was open for dinner during our stay; the food was delightful, well presented and perfectly proportioned. The spa was lovely, especially, the outdoor jacuzzi overlooking the gardens; which seemed a big hit with all of the guests...Overall we had a wonderful, restful stay and we fully intend to return in the very near future."

"Staff were friendly and helpful. Room clean and comfortable bed. As weather was very hot we were glad a fan was provided for the room. We had our evening meals in the restaurant for the 2 nights we were there,lovely food and plentiful. Hotel was within walking distance of parks and Carlisle city centre."
