The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. The property and cabins are spotless. Loved the cozy cabin and the warm shower after spending a week in the canoe circuit. We also were extremely pleased with the equipment that we rented for our canoe trip.

Got a phone call the day before our arrival to tell us that they had double booked our cabin. We were put in a different cabin and charged more. When we arrived we found out that the new cabin we were put in had stairs ( we have a 1 and 3 year old) which they were unable to block off. It rained and was around 9 degrees in August so we mostly stayed in the cabin however no wifi limited what one could do. Also the beach is down a extremely sharp trail I would not recommend taking a kayak down. You can drive your vehicle around and drop off at the lake. They have lots of rentals just one the pricey side. The lodge restaurant was not open all they had available was pizza. We originally planned to go into wells for dinner at night but the cabin was on a 25km dirt road- to far of a drive for food with young children. The general store was extremely lacking in items. The lake was absolutely gorgeous.

We apologize for having to move you to a different cabin on short notice. The double booking was the result of emergency repairs that had to be done on a cabin. This resulted in us having to move several guest into fewer cabins. Becker's Lodge is located in a high mountain area where the weather can be unpredictable at all time of the year and definitely on the cooler side than some areas. We did mention that the lodge is located 100' above the lake and has both a beach trail and the vehicle access to our beach. Our restaurant has been closed for more than 10 years. The new owners had plans to re-open it in the spring of 2020 but that hasn't happened yet due to COVID-19. Our general store is also sparsely equipped this year due to COVID-19. Hopefully the next time you visit the weather will be better and there will be some new normals in place.

We stayed at Beckers lodge before our Bowron lake canoe trip. Upon arrival there was a sign that told us where our cabins were as their registration closed at 6pm, which we appreciated. It was great to have a place to stay so close to the Bowron lakes. The cabins were clean and well cared for. We were disappointed that the showers were locked, when the sign said they would be open during the times we tried to use them and you have to pay to use the shower. It would have made a huge difference for us when we arrived at 8pm after a 14hr drive not to feel like an inconvenience upon arrival.

The views are stunning and the chalet is quaint, cozy and well equipped. As we were on the bottom floor of the chalet , the plumbing was really noisy.

Key didn’t work fir shower and confusion with booking Appears they are double booking and lack of communication between bookings. Could work on being more organized this way. Otherwise setting beautiful accommodations clean. Bed a bit hard but that is just a personal preference

Amazing family getaway
We had an absolutely amazing stay! Our cabin and clean and the bunk beds were very comfortable! The property is kept up amazingly! We will definitely be back our next time to Barkerville!

The lodge did not have a record of our reservation at the front desk (I booked 10 days in advance) and they had to call someone to find out that I had paid. I booked a room with a kitchenette so I could cook and when I arrived there was a sign in the kitchen that there would be an additional $50 fee for using the kitchen in the room. This should have been disclosed in the ad for the room.

This resort is amazing. The owners are so friendly and helpful and bend over backwards to make sure our stay was fantastic. The lodging is excellent, the grounds spectacular, and not what a gem to find and be able to stay here!

Peaceful and enjoyable stay!
We stayed one night in the Trapper Cabin so that we could visit Barkerville, which is a 25 min drive away. The staff was friendly and helpful. It’s understandable that the washrooms close at 10pm, but we wish we had access to them. We also wish there was hand soap instead of hand sanitizer in the washrooms. It was great that firewood was provided for inside the cabin! Overall, this place is beautiful and spacious with a wonderful view of the lake.

It was a beautiful rustic cabin with a wood stove that we loved for the warmth and atmosphere. The stove was set up with wood and fire starter. The staff were friendly and helpful prior to our Bowron lakes canoe trip. The only downside was there is no toilet or shower in the cabin but a shard facility about 300 ft away so if you had to get up at night to go to the washroom, you were likely quite awake bu the time you got back.

Thanks for staying at Becker's Lodge! If you'd like a washroom and shower in the cabin, next time book one of our deluxe chalets instead of a Trapper Cabin. All of our deluxe cabins have a washroom and shower in them and some have kitchenettes as well.

The cabin was amazing! We stayed in the trappers cabin, no bathroom. Was no problem, 20 feet away were the bathrooms and showers. The wood stove kept the cabin warm. Too warm we had to open doors and windows! Beautiful property!

Power is shut off at 10pm till 6am. If you arrive before 6pm you can get a flashlight at the front desk otherwise bring your own. Bathroom is also locked from 10pm till 6am so plan your bodily functions accordingly. "Comfort heating" is a wood fireplace with kindling, wood and 6 matches provided. No soap or paper towels provided in the bathroom. Provided feedback to Becker's and response was we should have booked the $170 Deluxe cabin not the $100 if we had such expectations. Good to know for next time I guess...

A very rustic cabin nestled on the shores of Bowron Lake ideally suited for canoeists about to embark on paddling the lakes pr just finishing. The cabin was large cosy, and clean. There is no central heat but there is a great wood stove that kept the cabin warm all night. My only quibble is the hard and fast cancellation policy. The event we were going to attend, & stay st Beckers, was cancelled due to wild fires & smoke & there was no flexibility to cancel or receive a refund.

We're sorry to hear your stay wasn't as pleasant as you'd hoped for. As noted on the reservation confirmation that was sent to you from Becker's Lodge's reservations office, the lodge office is open from 8:00am to 6:00pm daily. No staff are available after that unless there is an emergency.

Nice property on a great location but unfortunately with poor customer service; the guy on reception explained to us that we can't understand some stuff because English is our second language. Even more, during a short shower at the cabin that we stayed in that night, a leak started; extra charge almost for everything; light shut down @10pm.

We're sorry to hear that your stay was not as pleasant as you'd hoped for. Our property is kept in excellent condition so I'm sure the leak was unexpected for the lodge as well. The only thing we normally charge extra for with accommodations is extra people in our cabins that weren't included with an original booking and additional cleaning fees if guests don't clean up after themselves and cabins are left needed more cleaning than usual.

Excellent property with great views and beach access. If I could do it again I would have gone through Becker's for our canoe rental as well rather than the provincial park. I understand from other reviews that they may be a tad more expensive but you get what you pay for. Stay here and use them as your base of operation s for your circuit!

Beautiful Chalets
We stayed here for 2 nights. We had originally booked a log cabin with no facilities but as we were travelling without camping equipment, we decided to upgrade. We were able to do this with no problem and ended up in a one bedroom, self contained chalet. The view was amazing and it rained the whole day we were there but that was great for curling up in front of the log fire and reading. The wood is supplied for you. When the sun did come out we were able to stroll around the lake. So relaxing!

Pleasant surprise
I had expected a cabin with 2 bunk beds for myself and three buddies for the night prior to doing the Bowron Lakes canoe circuit. What we got was a nicely finished cabin with a separate bedroom (queen bed), a loft with two singles and a pull out sofa. A full kitchen with dinette in front of a picture window looking over a sundeck with a table and chairs. Heater heats up quickly. We would return to this place again. Lots of options with RV pads, small huts, and pay showers only (for those wanting to freshen themselves after a week on the circuit and before a long drive)

beautiful view, clean + tidy space for large group
Stayed at Betty Wendle cabin, large enough to sleep our group of 8. Wonderful view of Bowron Lake, lots of space, very clean. Lucky it had a BBQ, as it had no firepit, nor oven so we used the BBQ to make our dinner. The fridge was fine, used it alot; 2-burner stove was a bit small for pancakes for 8, but we managed. Great location for before/after the Bowron Lake canoe circuit as the park is 2 minutes away. Staff were all very friendly, helpful. I ended up calling the resort directly to ensure the correct cabin was available...and to pay over the phone.

Bowron Lake circuit
We arrived late at night in the pouring rain. The staff had left a note on the reception door telling us where our cabin was and had stocked dry firewood so I could light a fire and take the chill out of the air. Next day the well stocked store had the items I had forgot to pack like strawberry jam and an extra liter of fuel. All the staff including the owner were friendly, knowledgeable and willing to offer constructive advice.

Beautifully constructed log cabin by the lake
Cabins are beautifully constructed and maintained, clean and cosy. Trappers Cabins have no inside water supply, bathroom or shower, use the clean shower/washroom house close by. Power is turned off @ 10 pm until 6 am. Heat is by wood stove which you operate yourself. Careful setting of the air intake will keep logs burning for 4-5 hours. The lake is down the hill, canoes are for rent to travel the 80 km chain of lakes. There is a nice cedar gazebo structure overlooking the lake for keeping out of the rain. The 25 km road from Barkerville is good gravel but really messy when wet - red, sticky mud. If you like log cabins, this is the place for you!!
