Home is located on the Whitefish Chain in Crosslake, MN. Lake access requires a walk around main home about 100 steps. Amenities include: Bedroom with King bed, 2nd bedroom with king bed, bonus room with 2 Queen bed and a separate long twin bed, and huge Sectional in the living room.
Furnished screened porch, deck, kitchen, dishwasher, 2 full bathrooms, laundry, smart tvs with flat screens in each bedroom and living room with gas fireplace. Walk around main home to lake and enjoy a lakeside fireplace pictured.
Upstairs has a 2 Queen beds and a long twin bed, full beautiful bar, deck, Brunswick pool table, 130" Projector. Weber grill. Great swimming with dock, private, and close to town. Clean in excellent condition.
Pontoon rental 25’ Premier available located on a powered lift dockside, it’ books quickly so reserve as early as possible.

The cabin was great for our family vacation, it had something for all ages. It was clean and had plenty of space for our family of 8. The outside amenities were great and the lake is a great lake to spend the day on the boat.
Very roomy. Comfortably accommodated the whole family. Beds were comfortable. It was nice to have a roomy dock for the boat. Could use kid friendly drinking glasses.
Our family celebrated our Mom's 80th Birthday at John's place. The place was clean and there was plenty to do for all ages. John was quick to respond to any questions we had. Renting his boat was a great as we really enjoyed our time on the boat. We would definitely go back again!
All the comforts of home at the lake!! Property is beautiful, clean and exceptionally maintained. Owner is accessible and responsive. Would 100% recommend this beautiful home!
Loved loved loved it! The kids and young adults really loved the game room. It was so cozy! The owner was responsive to questions. Loved that we were able to bring the doggy too!
We had our family stay here for a wedding weekend. It was perfect. The upstairs bar/pool table area is well appointed and beautifully finished. The beds are super comfortable. John was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. Having the ability to rent the pontoon is a real bonus.
Caught fish off the dock really nice pontoon that was available to rent but weather a little rough a couple days. Had a nice anniversary with wife and family. Nice pool table and projecter upstairs lake would be great swimming june july so in general great time!
This is a great property for a large group on one of MN best lakes! John is a GREAT host... we have stayed at his place for the past three years... we were impressed the first year, and it only gets better every year. Outside of being a great property, all of the little things are thought of as well...from kitchen utensils to entertainment games. I highly recommend this place for your stay and John as your host.
We had a wonderful time at this property. It was spacious, clean and situated on a dead end road so very quiet. We absolutely loved the property and being able to use the pontoon to explore the many lakes. We also enjoyed making s’mores by the fire and relaxing on the screened in porch. It was immaculate upon checkin and communication with owner couldn’t have been better. Very quick to respond to questions. Our son caught a beautiful bass as well so he was pretty happy. Can’t wait to return.
We came out to John’s property for my best friend’s bachelorette party and it was amazing!! The pictures online honestly do not do the place justice as it was a lot bigger and more spacious than we expected! John was very responsive and helpful with any questions we had, he gave us great recommendations, and he was very accommodating! The check in and check out process was super easy and we didn’t have any problems during our stay. We rented his pontoon out for a day and it fit all 13 of us perfectly. Our group is still raving about how great the place was and what a blast we all had. I definitely recommend staying here and would 100% come back!
Annual trip to connect with old high school friends
This place is perfect for a group of friends or a family... or even a couple of families who are looking to vacation together on a great lake! Although the guest house doesn't have a view of the lake, it has everything you's need and want, with the lake just steps away (around the main house). A couple of very nice bedrooms on the main level with a big living room, a fully stocked kitchen, grill, games for outside, etc... Upstairs has more beds, a full bar area with pool table, upper deck, etc... John, the owner, is great to work with... he'll rent his pontoon, so no need to bring your own boat... and there is a really nice place to have evening fires by the lake.
Beautiful property. House was functional and more than enough space for a family of 6. Well stocked kitchen,and comfortable beds. Young adults and teenagers really enjoyed the upstairs theater, pool table and cozy sleeping quarters.
John was super responsive and great to deal with. We rented the pontoon from him as well and enjoyed watersporting and touring the lake.
House was organized and tidy. The home has high quality appliances and tvs in every room.

The bedroom set up worked well for our two families. We had 6 teenagers sharing the upstairs space and the parents each had a bedroom on the main floor. We also rented the pontoon boat which was awesome for our big group. The air conditioning in the place worked great which was very nice as it was hot during our stay. John was very responsive to our requests and was kind when inquiring about a missing remote and pool ball (which were all found). The only negative was that you couldn’t see the water from the guest house but access to the water was very easy. Overall, this was a great property for a big group like ours and John was a great host.

Guest house at Whitefish Chain gone wrong by roofing
The property is well maintained and was spacious — the patio and terrace do not overlook the lake , rather look at the hosts huge home - John was responsive to the few questions I did ask but he gave No warning about roofers starting early in morning and not permitting us to sleep in or to use the porch or open deck above - access to the land and a huge fireplace by lake was accessible to us but we were gone during day thus we did not enjoy the quiet of a lake cottage- no view of lake snd hammering roof activity keep us from enjoying a quiet cottage - the price of the overnight jumped 873 - John partially refunded 2 nights stay since we only stayed Sunday to Thursday am were hurried out earlier than 10:30 departure - John asked if we wanted a refund because of the 4 morning disturbance he had not told us about - but has yet to refund what we requested ! Beautiful property - be aware porch and deck do not have lake views ! The host did not communicate to us about roofers coming - thus spoiling use of deck & porch as well quiet during the only time we were using it! Always ask about the access to lake and any repairs going on during the stay - Beautiful property … lacking lake view but lake accessible via walkway - nice fireplace at lake but no view of lake from lodging. The lack of communication re roofing disturbance and thus no use of patio / deck and no lake view from lodging lowered my rating for the Host & Stay
Spent almost our entire time upstairs. Bar area, pool table, projector with surround sound was very cool! House sleeps 6-8 people comfortably. Already planning another stay there jext year!
Wow! Fishing was amazing! The host answered immediately to any questions that we had. Grocery store and bait shop was quite close. We loved it as a family!
Great Location on that lake and set up was fine for our family reunion. Only real issue is the pictures DO NOT represent the rental appropriately. You see the owners house and views of the waterfront amenities. The rental is a separate building back by the street with no view of the water.
