Fantastic historical hotel experience. If you’re into history and ghost towns, then the Bodie Hotel is a must stay. The staff/owners are incredibly friendly and helpful. Bridgeport is a quaint, cute little town. Not much to do but what is available is so much fun! Loved the whole weekend!

I appreciated the historic vibe of the hotel, having been moved to Bridgeport from the old mining town of Bodie. The Bodie Hotel, inside and out, made me feel what it must have been like to live in an old Western town. After dinner, we walked around the town, exploring the beautiful Courthouse across the street. When we started to cross the street, I saw that the neon light of the hotel had been turned on and the moonlight was breaking through the clouds directly above the hotel. Wow! I got the shot with my phone's camera and it made my day.

The owner Jeff was so friendly and showed us how the player piano works in the sitting room, the rooms have been remodeled and the velvet wallpaper and antique furniture add to the charm of this historic hotel. The bedding was comfortable and we had a great night of sleep in the quiet town.

Really interesting historic hotel. The fact that it's a real relic from the gold rush days is kind of amazing. We got some great recommendations for things to do in the area from Jeff, the owner. Super appreciated the coffee bar. Found the place clean and a comfortable temperature despite the heat outside. Would definitely stay again or recommend to friends!

This place is great. In this area there are a ton of hotels charging a lot for the bare necessities, bare rooms, minimally clean and totally devoid of charm. Not the Bodie! The couple who are the owners live here and they clearly put a lot of time and attention into the hotel. Excellent, friendly service with a thoughtful charm and unique atmosphere. Very clean and comfortable. Super glad we stayed here and this is the place to stay if you are in the vicinity.

What a Gem of a hotel in the Eastern Sierra! We loved this unpretentious, very comfortable lodge. Recently remodeled, everything is super clean. Our Room (#1) overlooked Bridgeport's Main Street and the beautiful 1880 courthouse across the street. Main Street is also Hwy 395, but at night it's not busy. The Bodie Hotel is also an old building - it reminded us of a European B&B. Pro Tip: restaurants close early in Bridgeport, so plan your meals accordingly. So, if you're tired of motels, for about the same price try the Bodie Hotel instead. Highly recommended.

Seriously, if you want to experience the feel and flavor and the essence of the Gold Rush era of the Eastern Sierra Nevada, stay at the Bodie Motel in Bridgeport, California. This period Hotel is a true gym hidden right before your eyes as you drive down 395. It was moved from Bodie the famous goal town in Mono County to his current location many years ago. It has the feel of being in a ghost town. The owners are doing a tremendous job of restoration and restoration recovery to help sustain its longevity. The staircases are tiny for the people that were of that period in time but easy to access to your rooms on the second floor with a spectacular blue View of the eastern Sierras from your balcony rooms. So if you really are into history, and love the stepping back in time of the California Gold Rush 1880s, this is an experience that you'll never forget. The owners are beyond belief helpful and friendly and just are so nice. Jeff will talk your ear off. But the energy and the love that he has for his establishment comes from the heart. And you'll just be completely part of the experience with him.

Responsive owners although I wasn’t able to meet them in person since I started my days by 5am and returned to wind down at 8pm. Returned my texts (questions) in a timely manner. Room was clean and cozy. It was a little on the small side but it is a historic structure. People moving and talking in the hallway can be audible but otherwise, it’s a pretty quiet hotel. Slept well. Bed was comfortable. Portable AC was provided but didn’t really need one.

Older hotel with fun history. Room all re-done comfortable beds. Perfect stay for our trip to Bodie. Fun walking around town. Treat yourself and drive to the Virginia Settlement for dining just a few minutes up the road. Food was very good. The places in walking distance for dining were not great

Unique, charming, historic room that had been upgraded with wifi. The owner was very welcoming and friendly. However, my husband and I did not like the split-level floor layout of our room. It made it a little treacherous to remember to step up from the bed and then to step up again to the bathroom. And, then to step back down. We were so concerned about tripping we had to keep a couple of lights on. As such we found it difficult to get a good night's rest.

Awesome place

This is a fantastic place to stay in Bridgeport. Jeff made everything very easy. The hotel includes a communal balcony and lounge fit for a variety of activities. It also has a tv with dozens of tapes to watch for a nostalgia fix. We will definitely be returning.

The owner checked us in and told us of some awesome local hot springs to check out. He also pointed us to the best food choices in town. The rooms were restored nicely, very spacious, and clean. The owner even gave us a little tour and talked about some of the building’s history. Very much enjoyed the communal espresso machine, fridge, and back porch. A nice relaxing stop!

Cutest place! Great history.

We loved this little hotel! The history was so cool! Simple room with no TV in room...and I'm good with that...common area with fridge and microwave and TV. Host was extremely personable!
