Which we later found out is the same story they have been telling guests for months. The very small room was embarrassing. A hole in the wall, electric socket not working, disgusting unwashed curtains, peeling paint everywhere, cracked sink, mould all over the shower head, broken wardrobe. The only plus was the bed...

"A little gem nestled in the countryside with glorious views. Lucy’s apartment was spotlessly clean and tidy, comfortable and very well equipped. Lucy is an absolute hoot- very welcoming and full of suggestions of things to see or do. Perfect for dogs too, with a lovely enclosed garden and lots of walks from the location detailed in the information folder. Lots of lovely pubs nearby too including a local just across the way. "Quick overnight stay, hotel well placed for Sunday afternoon on the Pier and close to the Congress Theatre for my evening concert, likewist 15 odd min walk from Eastbourne Train Station, Stff very helpful, bed room reasonale size with large bathroom (with bath). Coffee/ tea etc in room. Room nice and warm overnight (didn't try T.V. but used the fridge). Will definately book there again if a concert comes up."

The breakfast was very good, with a great choice of both hot and continental options. The room was spacious and a good size, but unfortunately, it was not well maintained. It looked like the room had not been decorated or properly maintained for quite some time and would definitely benefit from some refurbishment. The bathroom was one of the highlights, as it was spacious and had both a bathtub and a shower, giving you the option of either. Although the hotel is rated as a 4-star hotel, based on my experience, I would rate it closer to 3 stars. The excellent location, friendly staff, good breakfast and spacious bathroom were all positives, but the overall condition and maintenance of the room let the hotel down."

Balcony needs attention but this didn’t detract from the lovely room. Staff smiley and helpful. Loved the bar outside to watch the world go by. Great breakfast which was cooked to order and dining room a pleasant space. Great location for sightseeing."
