"Check-in at this apartment went okay. We initially had some trouble locating the spot, but we contacted Ian, the host, and he stayed on the line with us until we pulled up and went through the front door. Our first impressions of the place was that it looked as advertized but in person it was underwhelming. First, the location of the apartment: it seemed to be in a transitional neighborhood, where bars on the windows were needed for security reasons. We genuinely feared being out late or after dark. The apartment is in a gated yard but that offered little security as the occupants in the other apartment kept leaving the gate open. Next, cleanliness: some furniture needed dusting, the kitchen and bath needed a deep clean, moreso the refrigerator with sticky shelves and a shower with grimy floors. My 4-year old son had to be coaxed to step into the shower! The apartment has three large rooms, but the AC broke in one room, forcing my two children to share our bed with us while my mom was in the next room. Ian was amazing and offered to have a technician out the next day to fix the AC. The living room has no AC and was almost intolerable with the Bajan heat. We managed to stay only one of our four nights before we decided to move to a resort. Ian refunded us some of the money and we're grateful for that. The space is big but not family-friendly if you're thinking of it for your family."

"I checked in very late, but front desk staff was so heplful and patient. The all-inclusive food was very good (breakfast,dinner). The grab and go cafe was so convenient and thoughtful- which I was able to bring to the beach and enjoy. The on-site direct beach access is definetly what you need in Barbados as the beaches are some of the most beautiful beaches you will ever enjoy. They also offer a water taxiat no additional price to visit the sister properties in which you can enjoy the amenities/grounds as well, wow! The beach is the calmer side as the beaches closer to airport can be rough. Staff was always so helpful, kind, approachable and sweet. Barbados truly has some of the most kindest people I have ever been around. I would absolutely would stay here again!"

"We arrived on a Wednesday and check in was fast, the front desk staff was friendly. The TikTok video set an expectation of rum punch being served very differently than the real experience, lol we were handed two little bottles of rum punch, but it was fine, just don’t want anyone to experience something different. The room was clean and comfortable with a beautiful ocean front view. I do not recommend Water Edge bar/restaurant by the pool, food was cold, service was not friendly we went twice, bad both times. Terrace buffet was wonderful, we wanted the outside experience but the hungry & curious birds took over, we went back inside to enjoy our meal and conversation. The Grille was wonderful great food and service. PLEASE ask for Dianna when you need transportation, she is amazing, very personable and knowledgeable of everything, she felt like family we wanted to stay more days just to spend time with her. Overall I loved the experience and if I’m ever in Barbados again I will stay at the Hilton Resort and will only use Dianna for our transportation."

"Highly recommend! Great location! North of Bridgetown, South of Holetown made it easy for dining and shopping options. Beautiful sunset views on the rooftop pool and lounge floor. Staff very friendly and helpful. Secure modern facility/condo. Loved the large patio with access from the master bedroom and living room. Quiet, less populated beach was great for morning and evening strolls as well as beach days."

"Tantalus Villa was perfect for our family vacation (4 couples and a one-year-old). The many beautiful bedrooms - each with its own private bathroom - were ideal. When we weren’t in the huge and refreshing pool or on the adjacent beach, we spent most of our time outside in one of many comfy sitting areas. This is truly indoor/outdoor living and we loved it all. Brighton Beach is gorgeous. We saw horses walking by and swimming in the turquoise ocean water. The sunsets were breathtaking. A short walk to the left brought us to a casual beach bar (Rascals) and a bit longer walk to the right brought us to La Cabane, a stunning beachfront restaurant, with fantastic food. Right next door is a rum distillery with tastings and tours. If you’re looking for more nightlife, you’d need to drive or take a taxi. We had a delicious dinner cooked and served on the patio by Chef Shelley. Cleaning service/linen changes were done midweek. We also had use of the laundry room facilities. JP was an excellent VRBO host and communicator. He met us upon arrival and sent a comprehensive Welcome Book in advance. His sweet little dog, Bora, visited with us a couple of times, much to the delight of our little one. If you want a lovely home on a stunning stretch of beach for a large group, look no further than Tantalus."
