Great house, perfect for families

This is the most well kitted-out place for the kids that we’ve stayed in! There’s so much for big and little kids to keep them occupied in all weathers and the pool is a great size. We had everything that we needed throughout our stay, which meant that we could relax and enjoy the French sunshine. House is clean, well equipped and in a great spot for things to do. We will be back to visit!

Really well-equipped property - the owner has thought of everything families might want. Lovely house and garden to relax in and a short walk to the village with good local shops and excellent Boulangerie and Patisserie!

Well appointed house, gardens and pool ... with luxurious touches and attention to detail

We had a wonderful week in the house in July 2017. The house and gardens are very spacious and well furnished and maintained. We were three generations of a family holidaying together, so the bedroom layout particularly suited us (2 bedrooms upstairs and 2 on the ground floor). The bedding and towels we're all high quality, we all slept extremely well, in the very comfortable beds. The pool was a big hit, with plenty of comfortable loungers to relax on. We also enjoyed the games provided and it was lovely to have do much outside space to use. The owners have really payed particular attention to detail, with little extras and thoughtful touches which made it extra special, such the arrival pack, and toiletries in the bathrooms. We have visited the region before and particularly liked the facilities in Brioux and Melle so close at hand, and with the house being so we'll appointed we were happy to just relax there. Saying that we ventured to the lovely Angouleme, La Rochelle and the highly recommended Île de Ré, which are all within easy reach from the property for a day trip. I would highly recommend the property, its situation and the region.

Away from it all!

We stayed here in August 2017 and had a super week. The weather was amazing and we were in the lovely pool every day without fail. The house itself is a real home from home. Comfortable beds, quality bed linen and towels and an excellently equipped kitchen with an easy-to-use gas range cooker. The American style fridge freezer with ice maker was a big hit! The house is very spacious - the layout of the bedrooms really works - as a family of 4 with 2 young children we had the ground floor accommodation and my parents and brother were able to be separate upstairs with their own (very nicely appointed) bathrooms. There were a lot of games and toys at the Gite which were a big hit - darts, table tennis, pool inflatables etc My youngest son was very taken with the ride on tractor. The surrounding area is very pretty and very rural. Melle market was great, a real genuine french market with delicious produce. We also had a delicious lunch in Melle at the Secret Garden. The supermarket at Melle is new and smart with a great range. Only a 7 min or so drive away. Jill provided a very comprehensive guide to the house and the surrounding area - we were quite lazy as the weather was so good but there are a lot of interesting day trips to be had. In all we had a really relaxing, comfortable stay here - highly recommend!

Belle maison en Charente

Très belle maison en Charente dans un environnement calme. La maison est spacieuse et bien bien équipée pour cuisiner. D'une manière générale, les équipements sont de qualité et en bon état. La piscine est chauffée à une température élevée qui facilite son usage. La connexion internet est très rapide. La communication avec les propriétaires est aisée. Les propriétaires proposent des services payant complémentaires (charge de voiture électrique, courses, ...). Malheureusement, lorsque nous y étions, la douche/baignoire du rdc était inutilisable car le mitigeur était dysfonctionnel.

Deze vakantiewoning is top voor gezinnen. Alles is ter plaatse aanwezig: van kinderservies tot stoelen, speelgoed, toiletverkleiners, veiligheidshekken… Het zwembad is verwarmd en afsluitbaar. De woning wordt volledig naar wens klaargezet en bij aankomst stond ons een leuke attentie te wachten.

Maison parfaite pour un séjour en famille ou entre amis

La maison offre tout ce qu’il faut pour passer un bon séjour : spacieuse avec un grand jardin, grande piscine bien protégée pour les enfants, jeux pour grands et petits, cuisine et chambreS très bien équipées. Nous avons vraiment profité du séjour avec des enfants et deux bébés sans nous soucier de quoi que ce soit. Les propriétaires sont sympa et nous ont fourni toutes les info utiles avant notre arrivée et ont été réactifs dès qu’on a eu besoin. Je recommande sans hésitation !

Peaceful idyllic retreat in rural France

This newly refurbished property was just the place for a family & friends get together. The spacious garden and lovely pool mean that you can easily fill your time at the house with children occupied with pool and games. There are also a number of easy walks around the house. Further afield we visited Cognac and the beaches of the coast and the islands. The local supermarket, and the usual French shops and restaurants meant we could stay locally for a significant period of the holiday without driving anywhere. The house is beautiful with ample internal space, well maintained, very clean and it is very well equipped. The beds and pillows were the best I have had in a rental property. The kitchen feels like a real home from home - and caters for the most experienced home-chefs. I really recommend this property to anyone. The weather was stunning for the entire week we were there and we had a fabulous time.

Fantastic holiday home for families

This house had everything we needed for a wonderful holiday. The owners had thought of everything - a real home from home with some lovely touches. The beds were incredibly comfy and showers very powerful and a great sized bath for the children. Loads of space to spread out, great sized garden and the wonderful pool. My 9yr old son also loved the full sized table tennis table and we used the pool every day even though it was October! Highly recommend.
