Brittas Bay has been awarded the ‘European Union Blue Flag several times. This beautiful 5km stretch of sand and sand dunes, is designated as a Special Area of Conservation. It is an area of ecological importance and habitats of interest include sand dunes, ferns and grassland areas. The dunes are home to many interesting wildlife species and plants, including a number of rare species. This popular beach on the east coast of Ireland is life guarded throughout the bathing season.
Brittas Bay is a lovely community with rich heritage and a selection of local amenities including a primary school and church. It is said that Brittas Bay was the initial landing site of St Patrick.

Cornagower East Brittas Bay is 16 km south of Wicklow town, and 14km north of Arklow town. Both towns have a lovely selection of cafes, bars, restaurants and shops.
Wicklow Bowl and Kidzone located on the outskirts of Wicklow town is a great way to spend a rainy day with family and friends. Wicklow Gaol is another good choice and providing an unforgettable journey through an original prison building.
There are a wide variety of cultural and heritage sites in County Wicklow including Avondale House & Gardens, the monastic site at Glendalough, Greenan Farm Museum & Maze, and the world famous Powerscourt House & Gardens and Mount Usher Gardens.
