The positives are many: the room is beautiful, the beds have curtains, the location is excellent, it is clean, there is a microwave, and it is cheap.
Nonetheless, there are also some negatives: The beds are attached, so every time someone moves, the entire block can feel it. In another room, people were checking out early because of bedbugs. The bed is okayish, but not super comfortable. There is no cooking top. Checking in without a reception is a nightmare; everyone I spoke to was complaining about it.
Overall, it was good because I was in a 4-person room. However, if I were in room number 6 (the one with bedbugs), it would probably have ruined my time in Brno. I hope management can find a solution for that.
This hostel was super convenient across the road from the train station. Very easy to walk to the town. It only had one shower and one toilet on the ground level so if the hostel was full this might be a problem with waiting for the toilet/shower. The beds were comfortable. The room was very spacious. The female only dorm had curtains. The lockers are quite small but space under the bed or in the room if you had a big suitcase.
My stay was okay, unfortunately there were a few things that mean I can’t give a higher rating. Firstly, the locker in my room was broken. Only two of the four had a working lock and were in use. Also, the safe in my bunk area was broken. As there are no on site staff, there was nobody to speak to. I contacted the hostel via email, they apologised and said they’d send a handyman that never came. This meant I had nowhere to secure any of my belongings, so I had to carry them around all day in my backpack which was not ideal. Also, I had bugs (not bedbugs) in my bed which isn’t great, the pillow case was tatty and torn and the towel maybe hadn’t been washed and aired properly as it didn’t smell fresh. Another big problem is that the beds are all connected in a weird way which means when someone moves above you all four beds move and it’s really loud and not great for a good sleep, if you don’t have ear plugs.
Some positives were that the bunk had a curtain which gave some privacy, the bed was comfortable and the kitchen was clean and equipped well with a fridge and kettle etc. the shower was great, clean and good water pressure. On my second night I had the room to myself which meant I slept very, very well. The area around the hostel isn’t the nicest, being close to the main station, it’s run down. The
walk to the town centre though is not long and you’re 15-20 min walk to most of the main sites, bars, restaurants etc.

Left stranded overnight with no help
The rooms are nice, clean and it's a good location. Unfortunately the staff locked my room with the master key while I was out. When I returned at 9:30pm after the reception was closed, I couldn't get in. There are no staff around whatsoever after 9pm, not even an emergency phone number.
This meant I had no way of getting back in and was stranded without my belongings and with nowhere to sleep.
When my roommate returned and was locked out too, we had to book a room at Schrott next door and sleep there instead.
Fortunately when we returned the next morning when reception reopened, they were able to let us in and our belongings were still there. Apparently this also happened to another room the same night. Fortunately I received a refund without too much fuss.
To the management: please get an emergency phone number that is available to resolve issues like this overnight! This is the first place I've been where nobody is available to help whatsoever overnight.
The stay exceeded my expectations! I stayd in a private room and it had a hammock in it! Therefore I can't tell about the dorms but I'm sure they are as nice as the rooms.
The staff was so incredible and they moved my bedding down from the upper level as I informed them I can't climb ladders due to disability, even though their shift was about to end in minutes. I know I should maybe have informed prior that I can't use ladders but they were so accomodating still.
The location was excellent, less than five min walk from the main station and just next to the city centre.
The place itself is so cosy and I loved it!
Bon service d'accueil. Près de la gare centrale.
Friendly, helpful staff that took good care of the facility and us. Cool to have Thai massage spa in the same facility. Good cafe and good food. Location is right by the tourist area but have to walk thru an underpass of the rail which is a little dark at night. Overall a great stay.
I thought this hostel was wonderful, and I totally recommend it. It is just across the street from the center of town, very close to the bus station, but it is not loud or super crowded where it is. It is also two doors down from a police station. The interior was very nice with a big lobby (with food and drink options) and nice rooms with lots of seating, so it's not just beds in a room. The bed was very clean and had nice bedding and a curtain for privacy. You can borrow or buy many things if you forgot something like a toothbrush or charger. There was a communal minifridge in case you need to keep food cool, and each bed has its own small safe.
