This was an exceptional stay. Great location for visiting mammoth caves while getting a clean, comfortable place with fun things to keep kids busy. Would highly recommend.
Almost heaven is the perfect name because our weekend getaway was heavenly. The kids loved the animals and are still talking about the goats and donkeys. The owners were amazing and went above and beyond to make this a special trip for our family. We will definitely stay here again!
We loved this property. The cabin was clean and cozy. The bedding was comfortable, and we cooked in the kitchen both nights. We loved being able to feed the goats and sheep, and what a treat to have Lola greet us! We also were able to walk a bit of the trails the first evening which we enjoyed. It was easy to get back and forth to Mammoth Cave as well, which was how we were able to find this property. We would definitely stay here again!
Nice place to relax after a day of visiting caves. Beds and sofa were comfy. We were able to cook all our meals at the cabin and had a nice campfire one night. The kids enjoyed the animals too!
My husband and I rented the Almost Heaven Too for a weekend get away with our toddler. The property is very kid friendly, and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay including fishing poles, life jackets, vending food for the animals, and a playground for our little guy. The cabin was very clean, and was the perfect size for our stay. We had very easy communication with the owners, and couldn’t recommend the cabin more. We look forward to visiting again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The property is well kept and the activities for the kids were great. They especially liked feeding the animals! A quick drive to see Mammoth Caves. We also enjoyed the Down Under Zoo, Lost River Cave, and Jesse James Riding Stables. We hope to be back here someday.
Almost Heaven Too is a wonderful cabin in a rural area. We had fun kayaking and fishing and sitting on the porch. The location is about 30-45 minutes from anywhere you would want to go. The animals were fun and the kids enjoyed feeding them. There is a sweet dog (Harley) they had fun playing with and loving on.
I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a country setting and a relaxing vacation.
Nothing but good things to say about the place. The owners were easily reached and responded quick. The cabin was very neat and clean. Had plenty of cooking necessities for full meals and a gas grill outback. Very well kept. Kids enjoyed feeding the animals and kayaking. Lots of fish in the pond. Sunsets were amazing from the pond. Walking trails were marked, so much area to cover. Very relaxing short getaway. Look forward to making it back out here again!
This is a great place to stay!!! We stayed two nights on the way to Golf Shores from Wisconsin. The owner who lives onsite which is a farm is always out and about keeping the property up. The beds, firepit for smores and beers, screen porch, front porch, living area, shower are all awesome. Their were dogs but they were awesome and just love attention and like to hang out with the guests. We loved them and wanted to take them home. The farm animals are great as well. Great place for a family, or adult trip. Nothing to do with the property but the food store in town is small and I'd say limited so if your looking for really high quality meats and such you may want to bring them along with you.
Parents with teenage kids/ late July 2023
We plan a week long trip every July and this time we decided to do something new and go simple. The concern we had was, how can we do simple and not hear “IM BORED” all week…. Upon arrival we were met with some of the Friendliest puppies that my kids ended up naming “rocky sausage dog” and “blippie”. They stayed with us all week and we loved it! The kids were incredibly surprised by how friendly all of the farm animals were! There was one goat with really long fur that my kids named “piranha goat”. No clue where they get the names. They spent all week kayaking, swimming and fishing in the pond. It was lovely!! My husband and I could sit out on the porch in the rocking chairs, relax and unwind. The beds had probably the MOST comfortable mattress we’ve ever slept in and we travel all over the world. That alone was impressive. At night you can sit around and watch TV, play board games, or sit on the string lit porch. Overall wonderful!!
Downsides: the hiking trail wasn’t super maintained. We walked it once, until we couldn’t figure out what was/wasn’t trail and then quit. Firewood was available to purchase, would have been nice to have some already there for when we got there.
We came down to go to Mammoth Cave. The property was great. Our son loved feeding the animals and using the playscape daily. The farm dog Lola is the best, she greeted us every morning and each night. It felt like a home away from home. We would definitely stay again!
Great, clean cabin close to Mammoth Cave national park without being stuck with all of the rest of the tourists. Check in and communication were both great, and my 10 year old had a great time with the animals.
Beautiful and peaceful farm. Cabin has all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay.

We had a wonderful time at Almost Heaven 2. It is about half an hour from Mammoth Cave National Park and 40 minutes from Bowling Green, so it’s a good location. My kids LOVED feeding the animals on the property and kayaking. The owners were very friendly and the home was beautiful and clean.
What a wonderful place and great owners. he owner (Jeff) contacted us the day of our arrival and gave us everything we needed for checking in. The place was spotless. And I mean spotless! We were no more than 30 mins from a ton of cool places like Mammoth Cave, Cave City, Detwilers Amish Market and craft breweries in Bowling Green. At night, you hear all the sounds of the farm, woods and country. 100% reccomend.

Charming Cabin
This cabin was THE perfect destination for my family. We were looking to explore Cave City, but stay out of town away from all the crowds and other tourists. The cabin was exactly as pictured and super clean. The owners really paid attention to every detail and the decor was so fun! My 3 year old absolutely loved feeding the goats on site! We also walked around the property and used the fishing poles provided to fish in the pond. The town of Brownsville was so charming! We loved the CeeBee Grocery, Best Way Pizza, Mis Amigos, and Bertie’s! I would highly recommend this cabin and have already shared it with family and friends. The owner was also quick to respond to my questions. We hope to come back one day!
The property was beautiful, and the cabin was EXACTLY what the photos depict. The cabin was clean, and well stocked. And I loved being able to visit the baby goats. It was a short drive to Mammoth caves, and a great point to explore from. And we highly advise adding on food....its fantastic.
