Friendly staff, Clean, Comfy and Convenient
The staff here is always friendly and accommodating. I love this little inn. My room is clean and comfy and the place is a convenient walk to the downtown coffee shop, restaurants and WVWesleyan College.

This inn is historic , and we loved the lavender color of the original inn. It was clean, quiet, and pleasant. It was somewhat dated, but a good value and the staff were super friendly. The included continental breakfast was also good. We will stay there again if in the area.

There was no one at the front desk to check in and the lobby was locked... leaving my children and myself without a place to stay for the night.

We apologize for the inconvenience experienced at our hotel. On the night you registered with the reservation you did so around 10:28 p.m. That night our clerk became ill and went to the emergency room. As you see this was totally unexpected as the backup clerk had not arrived at the time you were there. Please accept our apologies and if you are ever in the area again please give us a call and we will give you a room at no charge. Thank You

This motel was so charming! Absolutely spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, very nice sheets and bedding, delicious breakfast. My favorite motel I’ve stayed at in a long time.

Lovely, clean and convenient.
This place is adorable, convenient and the staff are friendly and extremely helpful. We loved how easy it was to walk to the coffee shop, antique shops and more. Plus the breakfast was included and the biscuits were HUGE! We have already rebooked. Thank you for a great visit!

Just back from a weekend in Buckhannon with a nice stay at The Baxa. We were in town for a memorial service and the hotel where most folks were staying was full - but so glad we discovered this charming purple place as it was quiet, comfortable, and retro in a good way! Lovely breakfast nook with warm biscuits and gravy available among other offerings. Super sweet and helpful proprietors and staff too - they have and continue to work hard sprucing up the historic main building plus cute row of traditional motel rooms behind it. Thanks for your hospitality!

Staff and continental breakfast were both great. Quaint older place. Hallway to room smelled of smoke. Broken glass on bathroom floor. Room door jammed and was next to impossible to lock.

This property was not what I expected at all. It was a very small unit in a row of outside units off a parking lot in a very small town in a very isolated area. It was not safe for my daughter and I to stay there as the dead bolt did not even work. Also being on the ground floor with two windows was also unsettling. It seemed clean but just old and unsafe. Once I paid and got the room I literally just left the key on the bed, locked and shut the door and left. I lost $96 but I couldn’t wait to get out of them. I would have gone back to the main building but it was closed and the man had left the property. It reminded me of Bates Motel…not good.

Over Priced, no breakfast, not even coffee. Very friendly and kind woman checked us in, but it was down hill from there. The coffee shop on Main Street had lousy coffee, don’t go there. 48 years since I graduated, and this was my first time back in town. What a bummer

Thank You for your review of our room at The Baxa Inn, although we were very surprised by some of your comments. Our rooms all have a PTAC Unit which has a thermostat and the heat was on and working when you checked in. You dd not call to report any problems at all during your two day stay. Concerning the price, we are one of the lowest priced rooms in our area at $75.00 (Queen Bed) and we upgraded you to a King Bed before you arrived with no increase in price. We did have coffee available and offered at the same time we served other guests. Since Covid our breakfast room is only open on weekends, which is clearly stated on the site you used to make your reservation. I understand you found your visit not to your liking. But I believe we must respond to what we believe were accurate statements. Should you ever visit our town again, please accept our invitation for dinner for 2 at one of our local restaurants of your choice as our guest. Just give us a call and we will make the reservations for you. Have a wonderful 2022.

Comfy beds, hot water, & very clean rooms. They even have little goldfish crackers and bottled waters in the room, that they do not charge for. Nice little place to stay.

I liked this hotel no extra thrills. It was clean and walking distance from the old downtown. There is some nice restaurants and bars. I are twice at Maggie's and liked the atmosphere.
