"Excellent recenty refurbished hotelnwith all the facilities you need and high cleanliness. The bar is a beautiful piece of work and well stocked with local beers and spirits along with the regular favourites. The staff were lovely and obviously care about being excellent service providers. Looking forward to returning in the near future."

Peace and tranquility and stars! near Builth Wells

"We stayed at the farmhouse in Jul/Aug for 11 nights. The house is quite old & rustic, with traditional furniture & fittings.The view from the garden is lovely & peaceful, & there were house martins flying all around. It's about 10 mins drive from Builth Wells, with no immediate neighbours.The house is well equipped & has an open plan kitchen/living area.For cooler months there's a log store for the woodburner & standalone heaters around the property.Some points to note: The garden is enclosed, but a large old shed is accessible within the garden, cordoned off with a line of string. This isn't an issue for older children, but younger children would need to be supervised; there was an exposed staircase up the side and a slight drop-off at ground level alongside part of it. There was also an accessible trough with water in it.The driveway is along a rutted track, which could be difficult for low slung cars. A couple of things which were slight negatives for us, though not things which spoilt the holiday: Not all windows had coverings, incl the 2 ensuites which we covered ourselves at night & when our teenage children were showering.There was no connector between the main dvd player & tv - not an issue in the end, as both tv's had various apps & one had a built-in dvd player, it was just frustrating for a while.More lamps would have been helpful, esp for ease of reading in the evenings.Overall tho, we were happy with the farmhouse & would stay there again."

"This is a beautiful historic property with lovely grounds to enjoy. The staff were welcoming and helpful and made it a relaxing experience. The room was spacious and well furnished. Breakfast was delicious with a good range of quality food. I was disappointed by dinner. The waitress gave us some incorrect information about nibbles (the peppers were not padron), the bottled water was overpriced and the food was good but not special. Overall I’d still recommend as an enjoyable experience."

"A beautiful hotel in a lovely location. We stayed here for 4 nights in a Superior double room. The room had recently been refurbished. The bathroom was huge and very clean. The room itself was very nice with views across to the Beacons at the rear. Having the DAB radio on Radio3 was a nice touch when we arrived. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and professional. We paid extra for breakfast, and we dined in 2 nights too. Food was very good. Parking was ok but a little limited for the number of rooms. There is on-street parking close by and the Promenade car park is free 6pm-8am. Note: if you happen to have seen The Hotel Inspector episode from over 18 years ago with Alex Polizzi that features this hotel, please don’t be put off. Time has worked wonders. It is unrecognisable from then. I believe it’s now owned by The Coaching Inn Group. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again."
