"The property was very clean, comfy beds, short walk to the Aviator but the bathroom could do with updating as it was very smelly and tired looking.. I would definitely stay again though and recommend it to family and friends."

"Fantastic selection of pint on offer. The stout was class. Amazing they had a 3 course vegan menu (couple of options on each course) and the food was super lovely. Nice wholesome pub food but of a higher calibre that you could expect in a restaurant. Delicious. The staff were so attentive. I wish I could remember the person name who checked me in and served (red hair and glasses, so to describe your appearance, but you deserve credit 😁) this person knows how to run a bar/restaurant and is clearly super capable. They even went out to go get me oat milk for morning. Top service!"

"Reception The staff on reception went out of their way to make our stay exceptional. We travelled to Braintree to celebrate my 80th birthday as our family is somewhat scattered, with our eldest daughter living in Braintree. We had booked 3 rooms and the wonderful reception staff allowed my daughter access to each room to leave special gifts for us and balloons in my room. There was even a birthday card and prosecco from the hotel. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, with vegetarian sausages for one of my family. In all, nothing was too much trouble. We were able to order taxi's from the hotel to the venue and the bar was open for a nightcap on our return. A huge thank you to all at the Holiday Inn Express Braintree for helping make my birthday so memorable. "
