Beach Retreat is a beautifully remodeled cottage providing a bright and comfortable stay with ocean views. It accommodates up to 9 guests with 4 bedrooms. On the first floor is a cozy den with access to the ocean-side deck, full bath, and laundry. The first floor master bedroom has a king size bed, access to the ocean-side deck, and master bath. The first floor bunk room has a bunk bed with trundle and access to the ocean-side deck. On the second floor is the living room with plush sofas, a fully stocked kitchen, and dining room with an open design giving it lots of space for gathering. A half bath is located in the hall. The 2nd floor master bedroom has a king bed, master bath, and access to the ocean-side deck. On the 3rd floor is a king bed private master bedroom with master bath, and a private ocean-side deck that has partial ocean views. Offering all the basics to get you started on your vacation, such as toilet paper and paper towels, we're certain you'll be happy upon arrival. With access to a resort pool and spa, fish cleaning stations, unlimited beach access, private parking, and outside hot/cold showers make this the perfect choice for a relaxing vacation. No one has let me know anything. I can not answer this survey about the conditions of the house as the coastal storm prevented me from getting there. When you are on vacation, you cannot wait to have roads open up. Townhouses were falling into the ocean at Buxton.

Another successful vacay week in Buxton

This years highlights included a little more rain than usual and extra entertainment aka dredging operations. We were very fortunate that our part of the beach was not taken over until our departure day so only had to deal with unusually dirty water when the pipes were wide open. This is our 5th season at Lighthouse View and our 2nd at Beach Retreat. Appreciate the staff who were quick to respond to AC dilemma. Highly recommend location and value as always.

The Beach Retreat cottage was ready for us, all clean and tidy, our home away from home. I would love to be able to find an armchair like the one in the living room! The kids have dubbed it “mom’s chair”. The location is great. The group of kids we take down, my sons and their friends, love that there is good eating, great breakfast goodies, groceries, and shopping within walking distance. The beach is great as is the pool and a big favorite is the hot tub time in the evening before calling it a night! We have been going down for years now and love it every year. We come home relaxed and we’ll fed. The restaurants are fantastic. The thing that always surprises me is that despite the fact that we’re only there once a year, folks remember you! Everyone is so friendly! If you’re looking for a great, really nice, comfortable, and affordable place to stay, this is it. The office staff is very helpful with whatever you might need. Give it a try. You’ll like it!

We have stayed in all of the various housing options at Lighthouse but Beach Retreat 293 gets 5 stars! The staff is friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Becky at the front desk for providing excellent customer service. Thank you for a clean, affordable and perfect setting to escape for a week of sun, sand and family memories. We look forward to making lots more memories for years to come. Buxton and Lighthouse View should be on everyone's list.

The only drawback was the kitchen was devoid of anything other than dishes and dishwasher pods. It would be nice if there were some other cleaning products and some kitchen basics like coffee filters and salt and pepper.

Beautiful location!

Stay was great! Enjoyed the beach house and convenience of the private beach and community pool. Beach house was the standard clean and had all the kitchen appliances you could need. There is a small roach problem on the balcony and outside and 1-2 ventured into the house but nothing crazy. TV in one of the bedrooms had a slight glitch probably an easy fix we didn’t complain because my daughter watched tv in the living room. But overall we enjoyed ourselves.
