Mantra on the Esplanade

"This is the worst hotel experience I’ve had. The room was filthy, dusty, black mould growing in the shower. The wifi did not work, there was intermittent problems with hot water, the staff were dismissive and defensive when any issues were raised. The pool water was dirty and greenish. Communication was poor, the lifts broke down and no one would answer the phone and there were no instructions about how to exit the hotel. I thought that the mantra brand was reliable but it was evident that it is no longer the case. We had conversations with other guests who also commented on the poor standard of this hotel. You would be better off staying in a hostel and saving some money. I’ve since seen the general manager commenting back on poor reviews over several years. Clearly they have no interest in feedback or raising the standard of this property. Do not stay here u less you want to pay a premium to be deceived."

"The property and staff were great. The nightly rate was a bit expensive and didn't include breakfast. I didn't notice this at the time of booking, so my mistake. Would have been a good price if included breakfast."
Vibe Hotel Darwin Waterfront

"The best thing about the Vibe Darwin Waterfront is the location and the staff. Otherwise, the hotel is tired and uncomfortable. Air conditioning noisy and very hard to set a comfortable temperature - generally too cold. Shower fitting over bath unstable and shower head sprays water on floor making for slippery floor safety hazard. Curtains overlooking the carpark well-worn and dirty. Readin chair next to bed very hard and uncomfortable."

"Room was spacious but air conditioner even though turned off the fan kept going and was very noisy. Water in shower very poor no pressure for hot water. Taps over sink were marked wrong way around. The hot was on cold side. We stayed 5 nights and floor not vacuumed once. Staff were excellent and helpful in reception and pool areas. Wonderful pool"

"Check in records not up to date, as I had prepaid & they tried to charge me again. Tried to charge me after checkout for breakfast, when it was included. Property in great spot, but a little dated. Pool & restaurant/bar good"

"Property well presented and very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Air con & ceiling fan were excellent Minor gripes..TV remote was hopeless. Kitchen sink tap was installed badly with water control lever in wrong place making difficult to use. Otherwise a great few days"

"Great central location with clean small room which was enough if you only wanted to use it to sleep. Shower was good and fine for me. Convenient for all Darwin amenities and access straight onto Mitchell Street."
