Great place
Everything was great. Was wanting to mention, which didn't bother us, but it is more informative to owners. The HVAC system may need to be looked at. It seems to have a difficult time heating as well as cooling. But this time of year it was really not an issue. Thanks for everything.

Highly recommend
The interior decoration is stunning, first class all the way. The grounds it sits upon are beautiful and well maintained. The pond is full of fish. Very quiet and peaceful. Everything clean and new. I could live there and be quite happy. I look forward to returning for another week in the future.

Just What We Wanted
We truly enjoyed our stay in the Hideaway. It was quiet and peaceful in the country. We heard bob whites, whippoorwills, bull frogs, roosters and many different bird songs. We wanted a place for no close fireworks during the 4th as we have a dog that is super scared of loud noises. This place delivered with only soft booms and crackles. The cabin was just like the pictures. We would stay here again.

Outstanding retreat
We stayed here for our 28th anniversary and enjoyed the property a lot. The outside has that rustic look and feel but the inside was better than we expected, even after seeing the photos. I was concerned about the proximity of the road at first but it's not busy and only noticed what little traffic there was if I was outside. I would recommend this place to anyone and we will likely stay here again for a weekend getaway just because we liked it so much.

A must stay!
I needed a break from my stressful job so I booked 3 nights at the “shouse” to get away. It was exactly what I was looking for. The pictures don’t do this place justice. It’s very clean and cozy with all the amenities from home including a comfy queen size bed, large sectional, full kitchen (with a small oven), 2 TVs, and a full size washer and dryer. The views outside are beautiful and it was peaceful sitting by the fire pit listening to the wildlife. It sits right off the road but there’s very minimal traffic and you can’t hear it from inside. There’s another property with a partially shared driveway right behind this one. I wasn’t expecting that however if anyone was staying there I never heard a peep and there’s plenty of room for everyone to roam! I really enjoyed my stay and the peace and quiet was such a nice change from my normal day to day. I’m looking forward to staying again in the future!

Nice rural mini Home

Perfect for what we were looking for! Clean, peaceful, quiet. The decor was beautiful. Very welcoming & inviting. Host was easy to communicate to. Although we didnt bring our pets I am glad it was an option. Definitely recommend it & will visit again!

A Wonderful Stay!
We arrived after midnight on our first evening, and boy was I ever so appreciative to find a coffee pot, filters and coffee in the early morning! The roosters from the neighbors came to visit us, which was a real treat! They were adorable, and it was fun hearing their morning serenades! The communication from Pat and Rita was exceptional! They are super nice, thoughtful, and very helpful. We were there on business, and this was the perfect place to come home to in the evenings. What a fantastic stay! Thank you Pat and Rita!

Wanted to find a dog friendly place to get away from fireworks on the 4th of July as my neighborhood tends to sound like a war zone and I get no sleep for days due to the noise and dogs stressing out. I'm not a "Debbie Downer" about the holiday and am thankful for those who have sacrificed so much for our freedom. I just don't understand the reason for such noise when fireworks can be made without the huge bang and rattling of the windows. I figure it's from those that haven't experienced real war as any war vet that's suffering from PTSD will tell you it's not their favorite either. While there were literally about 5 minutes of fireworks in the next county over, the cabin was so peaceful and perfect for a getaway. The cabin is exactly as shown but with a bigger TV and the most comfortable living room pit. There were plenty of hiking trails and parks within a 30 minute drive for me and my dogs and just walking on the country road as the sun set was peaceful. Loved watching the deer, bunnies and listening to the birds chirp. Even met a toad. I'm not a Fisher or hunter, but they had a fully stocked pond that prior tenants documented catching quite a few fish. There's a grocery store about 20 minutes away in Cabool that had everything I needed. Would have liked to had a fire at night in the fire pit but it was too dry with 100 degree temperatures when I went and I didn't want to risk a fire. It would be a great place for star watching in the fall by the fire pit. Might be coming back. The kitchen had everything I needed. The bed was soooo comfortable. I'm fact, I'm now considering buying a new bed at my house as I tend to sleep poorly at home but slept great here! Pat was also quick to respond to questions prior to my stay. I am sure I will be back next 4th of July if not sooner. Thanks Pat! The place was perfect!

An absolute Gem of a home
This miniature farmhouse is simply lovely… It has a wonderful layout — beautifully decorated- all the amenities - Gorgeous master bedroom and bathroom - great living room … TV and internet throughout Fireplace - well organized kitchen area Front porch and acres to look on to … it’s in a farm like setting and pet friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this quaint shouse in the country. Great layout for 2 people. Wonderfully comfy bed. And quiet, quiet, quiet! Our dogs loved running and playing fetch in their own personal dog park. What would make the Holdup Hideaway even better? Cooking on the tiny stove is awkward. Only tiny pans make adequate contact with the burners to cook consistently. Boiling water in a normal sized pot took forever, and only one corner of the larger skillet gets hot. The cooking utensils / knives are in need of an upgrade. Finally, the barstools are too tall for the counter dining. If you’re not doing much meal prep or dining in, these issues are not a big deal. Overall, we really loved our quiet retreat! A great deal for much needed rest!

This was the perfect overnight stop with our two dogs on our road trip to Florida. I wish we would have arrived earlier to enjoy the area and outdoors more, but the morning was a delight cooking breakfast and enjoying coffee on the patio. Thank you! We felt right at home.
