Our choice of Casa do Gabriel to stay in was an inspired choice. "Absolutely fantastic stay! I come to Madeira yearly and when I’m with family I ALWAYS stay at either Leahouse or Laurishouse and you cant beat the location and the fantastic community! With the highway right there you can go everywhere. When we have any issues they respond quickly and never a problem! The houses have EVERYTHING! Top quality! Strongly recommend, you wont be disappointed!!"

"Quiet tidy accomodation. Away from other holiday makers. Jhonny local caretaker friendly and offered help but none was needed. Thomas gave good directions as we arrived in early evening and it was dark but no difficulty finding the villa. Friendly bar just a couple of minutes up the road walking for cold beer and cooked us a pizza despite being after 9pm."

"This renovated rustic Madeiran guest house is up in the hills above the main town of Calheta, in Arco de Calheta parish. It is comfortable and fairly quiet. The hosts are extremely nice and accommodating and very responsive to anything that is needed, and were very helpful. Finding the property is somewhat difficult initially, both with Google maps (as warned) and even with the provided directions (which are a bit difficult to understand) but Jose' and Mary graciously met us in town when we...

"It was a charming well planned home. The kitchen with lovely cabinets was bright and very well equipped. Very comfortable beds. There were good heaters on the walls but it was still quite cool as the house was very exposed sitting on a cliff. We loved the well built windows and balconies that gave us views of the distant towns and ocean. We were able to access a Levada very close by which was convenient for us. It was also a very quiet area with little traffic."

"This house has a fantastic location. Near the beach and nice supermarket. We enjoyed the view and garden a lot, mostly bbqing and spending our time outside. The house is a traditional Madeira style, and very homey."

Ik had via de website gevraagd of zwbad verwarmd kon worden ivm verblijf begin januari, daar geen reactie op gekrege . We hebben dus wel.wat gezwommen maar hadden het meer willen doen. Dat was erg jammer! Wel theedoeken en keukendoeken gemist. En nieuwe vuiliszakken die passen. Verder niets aan te merken!"

"Great place to watch the sunset from a shared deck while having dinner. Double check if the jacuzzi is in working condition, it was off due to covid measures during my stay. wifi was not available as described, however there was signal for vodafone data. The host sends you GPS coordinates to find the location in a welcome message. If you are driving uphill to reach what looks like a shed at the GPS cooridnates, walk back downhill a few meters to find stairs going down towards the house."
