BEAUTIFUL LOCATION
There is nothing more relaxing than water and a deck to relax on to enjoy the view. We were able to get to some spectacular parks in a reasonable amount of time. During the week is best, unless you enjoy crazy weekend youth. Still was wonderful.

Great place to stay!
We loved staying here. The cabin was perfect. We put the boys upstairs and they had their own space while we took the downstairs room. The pond kept the boys busy with fishing and kayaking. They caught a ton of fish! The decks are great even when it rained since they are covered. I would highly recommend staying here!

Relax and rewind
Awesome property with access to a beautiful pond. This place features a covered porch with plenty of room for your crew to hang out. I loved having morning coffee while watching the fog roll off the pond.

Spacious but cozy cabin near everything
The cabin is charming with a beautiful view of the lake along with a canoe and kayak. For anyone planning to zipline (which we highly recommend!), it is just minutes from the check-in. Lots of great hiking within 20 min drive in every direction. Would definitely stay here again if back in the area.

Great Rental
The house was situated close to all of our activities we had planned in Red River Gorge. The house was nice and cozy and had a great little bonus porch with two porch swings. The fire pit was a favorite as well. Also, a short walk from the cabin is a 1.5 mile hiking path to Suzanne Arch, a must do!

Fall Trip Natural Bridge SP/Red River Gorge
The location is very nice. Cabin has a nice floor plan and could've been very comfortable... except for the grime! It needs an extreme cleaning! The layers of dirt and dust were everywhere - on the stairs, in all corners, all along the floorboards, the kitchen floor where the cabinets overhang were full of dead bugs everywhere! I didn't dare open a window since every one was a "spider condo" full of webs and dead bugs. Disgusting! Also, the gas fireplace didn't work! The shower on main floor was very difficult to use. Do required maintenance and CLEAN IT and it will be a nice place.

I HAVE SENT YOUR REVIEW TO OUR CLEANING SERVICE TO MAKE SURE THESE ISSUES ARE ADDRESSED. HOWEVER WE DID RECEIVE 5 STAR REVIEWS FROM RENTERS ON OCT. 17 AND OCT. 20. THE DEAD BUGS MOST LIKELY ARE THE RESULT OF THE MONTHLY EXTERMINATION . THERE IS A CHOICE OF DEAD BUGS OR LIVE BUGS. A DEEP CLEANING IS SCHEDULED IN NOV. WHEN WE ENTER THE SLOW SEASON. A CABIN IN THE WOODS IS NOT LIKE A HOME IN THE CITY.

Girls’ trip
We had a great stay for our girls’ trip. The place was exactly as described. Beautiful front covered deck to sit out and enjoy your coffee in the morning or rest in the evening. The place was comfortable and had everything that we needed. Will definitely book again!

Amazing Place
This was such a beautiful and peaceful place. My three children absolutely loved fishing, canoeing and kayaking. We never had to leave the cabin, we cooked on the grill, over the fire, and used the fully equipped kitchen. The lake was gorgeous, so peaceful, and stocked full of small mouth and bluegill. Cabin was immaculate, and decorated beautifully. Our host was accommodating and replied immediately with anything we needed. We are set to visit again in October! I can’t say enough about how great this place is! My boys said they’d rather come here every year instead of the beach!

Wonderful Family Time
When we arrived, the cabin was very clean and organized. The location was fantastic! We were close to a lot of the hiking trails and local attractions. The covered porch with the porch swings was such a great place to unwind and relax. Throughout our stay, we were able to put a lot of time into fishing on the floating dock. Our family of four caught numerous large mouth bass and bluegills and enjoyed using the canoe. We were also able to enjoy watching the deer drink from the lake and watched some wild turkeys roam the woods. It was a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. We highly recommend this gorgeous cabin and resort location.

The perfect small wedding location
We had our wedding at the cabin and it turned out perfect. The cabin was clean but they had the plug in mice repellents which made a constant noise. I unplugged them to sleep. Overall I would stay there again.

Relaxing at Hillbilly Cabin
We came here as none of us have been to Kentucky before. I have terminal cancer and wanted to make memories with our friends of 40 years. This cabin was exactly what we all needed. Best part was sitting on the porch and just listening to the wildlife. The location was perfect for riding around and finding sites we could visit and that I could tolerate. I would definitely recommend and wish I could enjoy this place again.

Overall the cabin was just what we wanted. The only problem we had was the upstairs toilet, the owner called and gave us a heads up about it and it was still usable. You just had to turn the water on/off so the toilet didn’t keep running. The pond with the dock and canoe was a great benefit to the cabin.

Everything was wonderful about the property. It was very clean. Great location. We will definitely go back to this property again. The only negative about was we did not have correct code to get into lock box. Very difficult to reach the owner by text message.

There was a conflict with the code I sent and the one sent by VRBO. Sometimes the old fashion phone call works best . However, there is a backup contact provided in the information I provide all renters.

Pretty good place . Was sent 2 different codes for gates and cabin which was confusing . Also would have liked to know in advance that there building another cabin next door .hard to relax with saws running and hammering going on even on a Saturday . But overall good time and pretty nice place

The house description and pictures were accurate. We liked the house and enjoyed our stay. Location on the lake was beautiful. Also the road has been paved so there are no issues with cars reaching the cabin. We would return to this location.

Comfortable cabin but loud neighbors.
The cabin was comfortable and had a well stocked kitchen. We came to the Red River Gorge to rock climb and hike for two weeks. Unfortunately for us, a number of other people come to the Cliffview Resort (where the cabin is located) to party late into the night. This happened mainly on Fridays and Saturdays but also happened a couple of other days as well. It was hard to get a good night's sleep because of the loud parties.

IN THE INFORMATION I SEND TO RENTERS, I PROVIDED PHONE NUMBERS TO THE MANAGEMENT OF THE CABIN ACROSS THE POND AND THE LODGE LOCATED ON THE LEFT THAT IS OUT OF SITE. I STATE THAT IF THERE IS EXCESSIVE NOISE, PLEASE CONTACT THESE PEOPLE AND THEY WILL RESPOND AND WILL SHUT THE PARTY DOWN. THERE IS A 10 PM NOISE CURFEW THAT APPLIES TO ALL OF THE CABINS AND AS OWNERS, WE ENFORCE IT WHEN NOTIFIED.

Real treasure!
We came to Red River to participate in a wedding and decided to have a weekend getaway too. We’d never been to that area and after dark got lost inside the circle we couldn’t find the cabin. We finally called the contact “Karen” and she was so helpful the entire weekend when we also couldn’t open the “closing instructions” link sent to us . We had a good experience once we were in. If I had any suggestions it would be the master bedroom mattress could be replaced due to, if there are 2 sleeping in the bed, they roll into the hollow middle of the mattress.

Family Vacation
We had a wonderful week! Everything was clean. The kitchen was very well stocked. It was easily the best stocked kitchen we have ever stayed in. We had everything we needed to cook large family meals daily. The decks were wonderful- we spent a lot of time there. The cabin was easily big enough for us and our 4 adult children. We spent a lot of time fishing and swimming. You can tell the owmer loves this place. If you want a place to sit back and relax, we highly recommend.

Amazing Property
We had a family vacation with 8 year old up to 87 year old and there was something for everyone. Cabin was well stocked for us to cook all week and the pond with canoe and kayak provided hours of fun.

Nice location and environment to enjoy time away in a cabin. Cabin had all the essentials and more. It was like staying in someone actual home having all the things that you might even forget to bring. Sleeping accommodations, living and eat areas were well appointed for our group. The deck was also perfect for relaxing and grilling out.

Would I rent again?
This is probably our 5th or 6th time at this cabin in the last 21 years, first time with this property owner. The cabin itself is absolutely beautiful and the lake is so peaceful to look at. BUT…we was not able to sit outside by the fire with our radio on. Apparently we had complaints that our radio was too loud….it was NOT. It just happened to carry across the water. So, we was called by the property owner to turn the radio off, if not the police were going to be called. So we immediately did what was asked and never turned it back on. Meanwhile, it was 5:30 in the evening! When we turned the radio off, we could her the people at the cabin across from us all night. We herd their conversations, laughing, music playing and dogs barking both nights. It really upset me. Very unfair to say the least. We paid just like they did to have an enjoyable weekend. So, we did not enjoy the fire pit or deck. We felt forced to stay indoors! The cabin holds a lot of great memories for myself and my friends/ family but I’m not sure if I would rent again.

Such a wonderful little cabin!
My husband, our 10 year old son, 15 year old daughter, and our 23 year old daughter (along with her fiancé and two toddlers), stayed at this cabin over Labor Day weekend. We had the best time. The cabin was a perfect fit for us. The floorpan was spacious, yet still felt cozy and warm. We loved the lake with the provided canoe and kayak. Our family spent much time on the lake swimming, fishing and relaxing. The kitchen was stocked with all of the dishes and utensils we needed. Any negatives reported on previous reviews seem to have been addressed by the owners. And, the proximity to all for the touristy sites in the area was very convenient. We just had such an amazing stay and would 100% recommend this cabin to anyone!
