Terrible , cuando llegamos no habia agua , una tuberia rota, ok se entiende , se arreglo casi a las 5 pm , cuando vamos al baño , agua caliente pesima , 1 min super caliente y luego frio total , regadera dañada q ni precion tenia , cable tv con 20 canales solamente , check in pesimo , ni encontraban mi reserva , cuando me confirma mi reserva le tuve q decir que pague desayuno , luego dudo , reviso y lo dio ( por cierto el peor desayuno que he comido en mi vida , me quede 5 dias y los 5 dias era huevo revuelto con pan y nachos , lo mismo todos los dias ) y frio, el candado de una de mis maletas me la forzaron y se daño , no se q buscaban si alli no habia nada de valor , nos dimos cuenta q ni barren porque una vez llegamos con arena y la arena en el piso al dia siguiente se sentia igual , check out pesimo al salir la chica nos dice dejenme revisar como esta el cuarto , le dije ok revise q nosotros desayunamos y luego venimos , a todo esto luego yo voy a preguntar ya revisaron todo bien , y me dice no , falta el control de tv , el control de tv lo deje alli mismo de hecho me acuerdo q estaba en el suelo antes de salir y lo recogí y lo puse alli en la cama .. revisaron revisaron seguían insistiendo que no , luego a la tercera no vino el señor calladito como que lo encontró pero ni para decir disculpa estaba alli , en fin , lo unico bueno q puedo decir es q tiene buena ubicación , la chica del bar muy amable buena atencion y la del restaurante buena atencion ..

First of all, the room looks nothing like the pictures, the actual rooms are old and ugly. The moment my husband (160lbs) sat on one of the beds, it broke so we called the main desk to report that and they ended up giving us another room. The rooms that we got had not been swept so my toddler socks ended up with a ton of dirt and crumbs. The chairs in the rooms have cushions that are stained and the bathroom is falling apart. We went to check out the pool and again, the property looks abandoned and the pool chairs were broken and the pool water dirty. We were extremely disappointed with this hotel. Again, the only good thing about it is the location because it’s across the street from the ferry to Isla Mujeres (reason why we stayed there), there is also a convenience store nearby and 2 restaurants. The closest beach is about a 15 min walk. Overall, not satisfied or happy with our stay there.

The Expedia description of the room indicated it would have cable and 50 inch flatscreen. Instead, there was a puny 18 inch TV with no cable. The room was noisy, the door didn't lock, and we were charged an extra tax in addition to the fees paid to Expedia. This was to be our last night of a driving trip throughout the Yucatan peninsula, and we wanted a comfortable room to rest before our flight. Under no circumstances, would I recommend this hotel.

I like the affordable room price, you can reserve in advance to get the most of the lowest prices available. The available food when purchase is not so great, but to start its ok. Very friendly service. I will stay here again in the future.

We stayed the hotel for six nights. When I checked in front desk, the staff asked for $57 USD cash only saying it's government tax. I insisted on paying with credit card, the staff lost her patience. After I requested to talk with her manager she reluctantly agreed to pay with card. I requested the receipt and found what she wrote was sanitation tax in Spanish, which is different from what she said. There were only bed sheets and no quilt so it was cold the first night. Only when I asked a few times did I get blankets. There were no hair dryer, no microwave, no coffee maker etc. There was limited parking space. No recommended.

The good: Comfortable beds, nice pool area, good location close to restaurants, a convenience store and a pharmacy. The bad: Wifi is only available in common areas not in the rooms. Hotel is not on the beach, so you will have to cross the main raid and find a pathway to the beach.

My second time in Cancun
This hotel is very well located, steps away from Xcaret Ferry to Isla Mujeres. The hotel is very clean, although they dont have breakfast or dining included there is a complex of small shops even a pharmacy and a good restaurant just down front the hotel, you don't need to have a car or taxi to move around, local bus services is good, there is a bus stop next to the hotel with busses passing through every 3 minutes, Xcaret ferry service from across the hotel is the best one because the observation rotating tower is included in their ticket price when you return from Isla Mujeres, there are another 2 ferries departing from other docks of the beaches, the best beach is Tortuga Beach half a mile away from the hotel, even few or ni waves, there is a restaurant with good sea food with beach view there too. Calypso Hotel is not a fancy place but…..it’s very clean, quiet and close to every thing even the night clubs area is less than half a mile away.

Our room was clean. There were no blankets or washcloths available. The towels were probably at least 10 years old. There was no ice available. No fridge to put ice in if you bought some!!! I would not recommend it.

The location is good, but the property is worn down and very noisy in the middle of the night with people, mostly locals partying around the pool area. It was very hard to communicate with the staff if you did not speak Spanish. I understand that his is not an English speaking country but this hotel is in the tourist area and staff should be able to communicate, at least the basics in English. We booked the hotel for two nights, but ended up after leaving one night and go somewhere else.

Run down condition Ac leaking and hot One pool was dark The other pool floor in bad shape falling apart Very noisy place Bad breakfast Clogged bathroom vanity Hard beds When I went they were doing construction until pass midnight and I complained twice about the drilling and hammering noise Was told that they had to finish repaiiing an elevator order of manager .no respect for people trying to sleep.

The best, the font desk and housekeeping personal, the pool was dirty no body wants to jump in, the food was terrible, same menu every day for 6 days!!!, the fruit was old and sour, we complain to the waiters and they don't took well.
