Canillas de Aceituno is an active and authentic white village of Moorish origin, historically located along the former Mudejar trade route. Today, the village combines rich history with a lively local atmosphere, making it a wonderful place to experience real Andalusian life.
Throughout the year, various local festivals and events are celebrated, including the famous “Día de la Morcilla” (the traditional black pudding festival), as well as lively festivities in May and August. These events bring the village to life with music, food and local traditions.
Canillas de Aceituno is also known for its excellent traditional restaurants, where you can enjoy authentic Andalusian cuisine. After an impressive hike on the slopes of La Maroma, the highest mountain in the region, there is nothing better than relaxing with a drink on a sunny terrace, soaking up the warm, friendly and convivial village atmosphere.

We are Claudie and Ron, living in the Netherlands with our two children and deeply in love with Andalusia. In 2023 we renovated Casa Olivia to create a place where guests can enjoy privacy, peace and comfort, without being isolated from everything Andalusia has to offer.

The jewel in the crown

This is our 5th holiday to this area over several years and by far the best! The location is simply stunning with sunsets over the far mountains making it extra special. The villa is very well appointed and spacious. The terrace upstairs is a luxurious place to doze off while reading a book. The terrace around the pool offers many places to relax, find shade and eat. The pool is a great size. But this place is all about the views! Ron’s communication and detailed but easy to understand instructions made life so easy. Can’t recommend highly enough - SUPERB!!!
