"One of the cleanest rooms we've ever stayed in. Kudos to the housekeeping staff. This is an older hotel. It seems like it was renovated in the last 5-7 years. Spartan decoration. Extremely spacious. Very decent bed. Great view to the water from our room even though it wasn't one of the directly beach-facing ones. The stairs (only way up and down) are a bit odd. The different widths of the steps made for some iffy navigation. It was relatively quiet while we were there, but you could tell that if the noise level in the halls rose, you'd hear it in your room pretty clearly. Parking is at a premium, and it is extremely tight quarters. In season, it would probably be annoying. There is overflow parking across the street."

"Overall the place looks better since work was done remolding.. The carpet throughout motel is horrible dirty. It's been like that for few years. Please clean or replace it. And finally the morning breakfast needs some help. Out of products , poor utensils. You can't even eat with what you're using now. Overall...it's getting better then before."

"Room was nice despite not having toilet paper when we checked in. The front desk staff quickly remedies. The bed was ok but was made with basically a sheet. It is still chilly and we just about froze. The air/heater worked but squealed so loud we couldn't leave it on. Again, we just about froze. Didn't sleep a wink and couldn't wait to leave. We've stayed before and did not have these troubles. Upon check in, we were asked to pay $20 to park our car in the pretty much empty lot. Never had to pay to park before. So we parked on the street so we weren't towed. Ridiculous when there is no one here on a Thursday night. Also charged a $200 deposit in case of damages. Didn't stay long enough to even use bath towels except to wrap up in while attempting to sleep. Could be just that this is on the cusp of busy season but seriously...Didn't expect this as our experience before wasn't bad."

"Here's the good: - nice location - clean linens and carpet - nice pier to sit on overlooking the bay. Everything else: Booked a month or so ago. Arrived to discover they were renovating parts of the hotel, and that my room was directly over top of where workmen were cutting large slabs of marble with saws. When I inquired about the noise, the staff only said "Oh, we're renovating." Constant power sawing went on for two days. The morning of check out, I was in the shower when the water was cut off, no warning, because they were apparenlt redoing the washer-dryers outside my room. I don't normally write negative reviews, but the three day vacation I tried to go on was hampered by poor weather. I couldnt retreat to the beach, and the hotel I booked to relax was under construction. I understand needing to renovate, especially during off season, but I would have booked somewhere I could actually take a nap for my vacation. Super disappointing."
