The rooms and space was clean, well kept. The sitting room on the second floor has a beautiful view of the sunrise and an excellent place for coffee from the hospitality room. Wine and cheese reception at night was a nice touch. The restaurant has great food! My husband had a great birthday getaway there. Would definitely highly recommend

Nice, friendly staff, clean room, but VERY WARM

The inn is a nice place, clean and cozy, and the staff (Tom and Melissa) were very friendly and professional. Our room #5 was quite warm (too much so), maybe because a heat source (kitchen) was below, but we remedied this by opening a window to offset the heat. Someone was partying loudly (somewhere below) as we tried to sleep, and with the window open we could hear them yelling, but evertually (midnight) someone must have told them to quiet down, or they finally went to bed. Other than that, it was an enjoyable stay.

Left with wonderful memories

At the last minute I booked an overnight stay to enjoy the outstanding November weather. This hotel exceeded my expectations in style, friendliness, comfort & location. During this pandemic, they implemented every possible precaution & yet it was a relaxing stay. The large porch allows for outside dining- including their complimentary breakfast.

Amazing amenity filled inn with perfect location

The hotel is beautiful. Very regal. Excellent location. Amenities are amazing. Snacks and soft drinks and water always available for free. Beach chairs beach towels beach umbrellas for guest use. Breakfast was great. My only issue was our room. While it was a beautiful room the bathroom was a bit small for me and the slanted ceiling by my side of the bed caused me to hit my head a few times lol. Just get a room on a lower floor with a regular ceiling if possible. Otherwise the Inn is fantastic. 5 star rating

Lovely inn and great attention to detail.

We wanted to go somewhere small since COVID is a real concern and the Peter Shields Inn was perfect. They only have 9 rooms and they instituted many precautions that made us feel very safe. The Inn is across from the beach and everything we needed was right there. We look forward to visiting again soon!

Wonderful experience

We were staying in Wildwood Crest New Jersey and had to leave Friday because the hotel was booked for the weekend. I went online and found this old Victorian house across the street from the shore that had a vacancy for Friday night. We had never spent the night in Cape May before so we thought why try it. The bed and breakfast was beautiful and the breakfast was outstanding. Great piano music and bar.

Serenity at the Shore

Staying at The Peter Shields Inn was thoroughly rejuvenating and pampering. The historic Inn offers luxurious and inviting accommodations in my most favorite beach community in South Jersey. It’s beachfront location is ideal for enjoying the natural ocean beauty easily and from every restful location on the property. The bedding was heavenly as was the service and on site fine dining restaurant. The wine and cheese reception, breakfast and all day snacks were equally wonderful as the five star dinner. I cannot wait to go back to The Peter Shields Inn. It is my new number one destination for complete serenity within driving distance from home. Thank you so much for your kindness and hospitality

Very nice and relaxing stay. Wine and cheese were great, dinner was excellent, and the bed was comfy. Russell checked us in and he was very nice. The restaurant was busy and I am glad we booked an early sitting. It is a small property, which I like. Will definitely come again.
