We are a couple with 2 kids under 10 and an elderly grandmom. We don't like the boardwalk/hustle bustle kind of scene found in many beach towns, and we like nature and quiet and peacefulness. We found it here. It was a mere 7 minutes from our door to the gentle waves (life-guarded beach!) The place was comfortably furnished and was the perfect space for us. Our ONLY issue was that we are used to the comfort of air conditioning. Fortunately, our week was quite mild, so it was not a problem except for in the late afternoon (and on the first day when we arrived - temps were close to 100 outside and it took a lot of fans on high to cool it down.) We probably paid a lower price for a place with no air conditioning - that was nice.
Were it not for the heat in the late afternoon, I would have rated this place excellent. The grounds were clean and very well landscaped. The place was very clean and the photos reflected what we found when we got there. It was beautiful there! The outdoor shower was very much appreciated, as were the beach toys to borrow and the outdoor drying line. There were many amenities I didn't anticipate.
We are bird-watchers and highly recommend the nearby Cape May Bird Observatory. There are MANY activities on a daily basis sponsored by them. Even if you're not into birds, taking a walk with the volunteers who lead walks close by, may open your eyes to the huge world of birds. Cape May is a premier birding spot. I will absolutely recommend this place to our birding friends (and if it's free in fall, we may be coming back!)
The kids (girls, 7 and 9 years old) also highly recommend the place to families (as does my mother-in-law!) We were all very happy!
