The staircase referred to is one of our fire escapes and unfortunately a safety requirement. I would therefore strongly recommend for future stays choosing one of our mountain view rooms as they offer majestic Table Mountain views. While we greatly thank you for your review, we would like to acknowledge that our hotel is celebrated by many for its affordable pricing considering its prime location in Cape Town. It is also enjoyed for its many room types to suit all budgets, from the entry level Pod (economy) room, to the Penthouse Suite. Our rooms are often praised for being well decorated and beautifully understated in their design. We do sincerely apologise that this was not to your taste. We are truly sorry that you felt it was overpriced for your stay and will take this feedback on board. Please also note that you will not find electrical plugs in any bathrooms in South Africa, this is a safety regulation when building. If you meant basin plugs, thank you for this feedback, and we will certainly look into why this was not in your room (all our rooms come standard with plugs). As stated on our website, in our pre-stay arrival emails and on all of our online platforms, our secure basement parking is indeed an optional extra, but we sincerely apologise that we did not communicate the parking rates to you clearly upon check-in, as per our usual procedure. Plenty street parking surrounds the hotel should guests not wish to make use of the parking facilities. We would also like to apologise that your air-con was not working during your stay, our maintenance team would have dearly loved to fix it for you.
