Looking for peace and mountains? This is your ideal accommodation. Two tourist apartments are rented in the village of Casaio, in the province of Ourense. Enjoy hiking routes, visit Peña Trevinca (the highest mountain in Galicia), El Teixadal (one of the largest and most important yew forests in Europe), or the old Valborraz mine, used during World War II for wolframite extraction. You can also see the Casaio Pala De Cabras Paintings, frequented 7,000 years ago and dating to the Early Neolithic. The village is quiet and offers a free pool open in summer, a playground, and a canteen with homemade food and a friendly atmosphere. O Barco de Valdeorras is about 24 km away, and Las Médulas, an ancient Roman gold mine, is about 35 km away.
