Spacious bathroom, comfortable bed. Lovely view of the castle, good breakfast. The only thing was floor lamp didn’t work, we mentioned it at the reception but never been fixed while we stayed 4 nights. Otherwise all good!

Lovely, clean hotel that was conveniently located for visiting La Cite as well as nearby restaurants. Parking was convenient and the staff was very helpful. The rooms were very comfortable, including the bed.

We have just come back from a 5 days stay at this hotel and we could not have booked a better hotel. It's location is excellent, with beautiful views over the river and old city and only a 5 to 10 mins walk into the centre of Carcassonne. The rooms were not overly large, however I liked the fact the bathroom and WC were separate. The rooms were well equipped with all tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board and hair dryer. Immaculately laid out with lovely thick dressing gowns for the colder evenings. The staff were lovely and could not have been anymore welcoming, with nothing being too much trouble. The breakfast is self service and catered for all tastes, with both continental and cooked on offer. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. We had the perfect stay.

The property is new, good location, walking distance from the walled city. Overall good quality for the price however do not expect 5 star service or amenities. This is a good quality 4 start level hotel. The only major issue we had was with the delivery of hot water through the shower. Really slow to switch from cold to hot. Once it is hot, it does not last long and water flow is poor. Also we kept hearing some noises from the toilette pipes above out room, really loud noises from the use of the bathroom above out room. Overall the staff is really nice, professional and doing a great job with great management.

I strongly recommend your stay here
Everything was perfect , just the breakfast didn’t came in to my room in time I had to call them twice in the morning again. But the place is beautiful with an amazing view , the confort is here and service very polite.

Ideal location with great views of the Citadel. 2 minute walk across the bridge into the old town. Lovely garden and complimentary water and Coca Cola in room

The property is in a great position. We were there for 10 days and our room did not have adequate wardrobe space. I was also told that tea and coffee making materials were not renewed in the room. Staff levels at breakfast did not seem adequate. Often running out of cups and tables very slow to clear. It is not a 5 star hotel in my opinion.

The situation of the hotel was excellent we enjoyed our stay very much, it was a special treat for us to each other. The only dislike I had was that toiletries were not replaced on our second day neither were tea,coffee or milk in the tea tray. Staff were excellent and helpful.

Once found, the property was very well located. The hotel is very difficult to find. There was no signage to guide you to the hotel in a maze of small, one way streets. Staff could have been a bit more helpful in there guidance of how to get around. The hotel is a very nice facility.

The location is fabulous with great views. Sadly this is the only 5 star aspect of this hotel. We had several problems, one a major safety issue which meant we had to occupy 4 different rooms in a 7 night stay. All of the issues really came down to poor overall management leading to poor customer service. Both Expedia and Hilton head office we very helpful to us but the staff were not really bothered.

I took my two boys to have Warm milk at the bar. We weren’t even charged for it! Love that service. Also the cookies were a plenty for them as well!

A relaxing stay in Carcassone
We spent a lovely week in the hotel which has an amazing view of the Cité. The staff were so friendly and helped with our queries. The room was very comfortable and the air con was a blessing.We especially enjoyed the giant chess game and I can recommend the mojitos! The location was great as it was near the cité . The breakfast buffet had the option of a full or continental breakfast. I will stay in the Doubletree if I ever revisit Carcassone.

Great position in the town. But quite a let down overall considering it was a five star. It took an hour to check in and even then one of our rooms wasn’t ready at past 7pm. The Spa was out of action for quite a time the following morning and the chef was apparently too busy to make us two club sandwich’s at lunch time. One of our two rooms only had hand towels and no robes. I’m not so ignorant to think any of these things are important in the real world but they’re not what you think you are paying for when booking a five star hotel.

Wonderful location and we loved Yanik!
We had beautiful views of the walled city across the river. It was lovely! And we loved the restaurant. We had the best waiter for two nights in a row - Yanik (sp?). He added so much to the delight of the evenings. He was all over the place! The views and lawn and outdoor areas from this location are great and the pool is refreshing.

Magnificent view and great location
Lovely hotel in a wonderful location with a magnificent view. Room was very spacious and well equipped. Only disappointment was breakfast - there did not seem to be anyone taking care of the buffet, or taking hot breakfast or coffee orders. Staff on reception however, were very helpful.

A beautiful hotel in a great location. We were super impressed by all members of staff who were really friendly. Margot on reception was particularly lovely. Very professional and welcoming. The room was superb and all parts of the hotel were immaculate. Loved the lady who called late afternoon to top up our tea bags and milk and coffee. Cookie on arrival was a great touch too. The only thing that could be improved was the temperature of the pool. Otherwise we would definitely return and recommend to all.

What a View
We stayed two nights in Carcassonne at the Double Tree. We were greeted with freshly baked cookies that were yummy. The bed was comfortable but had a duvet so controlling the amount of covers was impossible. The bathtub was stand alone and was kind of in the main room. There was a curtain that you could pull for privacy. The separate shower was next to the tub and sinks were next to the shower. The toilet was in its own little room, but other wise there was not a door separating the bedroom from the bathroom.. the provided toiletries were of high quality. Breakfast was excellent. The view from the bar/breakfast area was outstanding. Staff was helpful and pleasant. We knew that we would need to self park several blocks away so that was not an unpleasant surprise. Due to its location they had no other options for parking. We walked up to the old walled city and back. Had an excellent meal just two blocks away and another meal up in the city. This is a new property so very thing is new.
