"The room I stayed in felt boxy, but still nice and clean. My room view was of maintenance, so that was not so exciting to hear or see in the morning. Sadly I did not get to take advantage of the resort big lagoon pool or even see it, though I was charged a resort fee just for staying there. I was only here for one evening (much needed rest, which I got). Perhaps it would have been more enjoyed with a partner or kids. The breakfast at the bar was very nice and good quality and the bartender was very attentive."

"I stayed at the talking sticks before, but this time was not so great. Me and my sister stayed Mother’s Day weekend. The room was clean, but the refrigerator did not work as well as there was a lipstick or makeup stain on one of the beds. Also, when we went down to the pool area, there was a dark ring around the pool and it got on my bikini top and destroyed it. The staff were amazing as always. Just wasn’t the experience that I’m used to from the talking sticks."

"For the price, this was a fine stay. With that said, the facilities are in need of a major update. The rooms are really dated, furniture is stained, and plaster is cracked in several areas. The description is a bit misleading - several of the pools are quite small and one is off limits to kids. The family pool area has signs saying there is food and drink delivery but there isn't. The water slide was never open when we were there. We enjoyed the big pool areas but they are very crowded on the weekends."

"Unfortunately, I would not stay here again. As soon as you walk into the lobby, there is a very strong sewer smell, almost like there are plumbing or sewer issues. It hits you immediately and the smell was there every single day of our stay, which made a bad first impression. The hotel overall feels very old and outdated. The first room we were given had an AC that did not work, making the room extremely hot and uncomfortable. While the staff tried to help, the overall condition of the property did not meet expectations. For the price and location in Scottsdale, I expected a much better experience."
