  • Newly remodeled 2-level guest house on 20 acre ranch. Completely solar powered, propane heat, kitchen with cook stove, 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath, living room with 2 hide-away bed couches. Free wifi. 25 minutes from Schweitzer Ski Resort, 15 minutes from Silverwood Theme Park. Equi-distant between Couer D'Alene and Sandpoint. Kids can enjoy feeding and petting the sheep we raise. Nearby National Forest with great hiking and biking trails. Only 1 mile off of state highway 95.

Fantastic quiet cabin close to Silverwood

Wonderful remote cabin on a quiet property, but also within a quick drive to Silverwood, Farragut State Park, and other outdoor activities. Very polite and nice hosts!

Wonderful Cabin

Our family was very happy with the cabin. We stayed for 2 nights to visit Silverwood, which was a short drive away. The owner was friendly and accommodating.

Amazing stay!

This place was tucked far enough in the woods where one can appreciate a quiet morning. Place was clean, cozy and comfortable. No internet and very little cell service (w/ Verizon) which makes the stay even better, forcing one to truly disconnect! I enjoyed this place and would most definitely return.

Great stay in Northern Idaho

Home was perfect for a family stay. Tons of room. Kids appreciated their own rooms and full kitchen & living room were great for eating and watching movies in the evening. Very quiet and out of the busy areas yet only 10 minutes to Silverwood made it a great location!

Best place and host!

Second year staying with Mark and Vicki. The hosts are so welcoming. The house is welcoming and completely off grid. Comfortable for the whole family to stay and adventure around the area. We will be return again.

Great Stay for Families or a Couple

Best value in the area for a couple or family. Clean, clean, clean and well furnished. Close to Silverwood and grocery. Beautiful property. Mark and Vicki are great hosts. The cabin was hand built by Mark and is solar powered which is really neat. He does a great job explaining which outlets are 110 for your charging needs. We just needed a place to sleep after a couple of long days out in the area and this was a great choice!

Quiet Getaway

The house had everything you could want for a nice, quiet stay in the mountains. The owners were very responsive to any request (which was only for butter to cook eggs!), and even provided us with snacks and wine for our first day! It was a big house with lots of room. Although close to owner's house, felt very private. Enjoyed seeing the sheep and Max every day. We would highly recommend staying with Mark and Victoria.

Like a step back in time. The property is more than unique. The onsite owners are respectful of your privacy but are like having a concierge. The setting is relaxing. The beds are comfortable. The sheep are unique as is the resident duck. I'd mention the stairway to upstairs bedroom, but the host transported our luggage, coming and going. Don't consider this property if you like being in the center of a busy community because the peace and tranquility might unsettle you.

Great stay for Silverwood vacation

Awesome stay! Wonderful home in a great quiet location. Guest house was close enough yet far enough away from host. All rooms were very comfortable stayed cool despite the heat outside. Owner provided bottled water and everything needed for us to make breakfast and late night dinners after closing down Silverwood. Very close to grocery store and siverwood. Dog and sheep were a hit too. Wi-Fi/tv connection were hit and miss but had no effect on our trip as we were on the go most of the time . That was fully disclosed before we arrived. Everything the owner disclosed is accurate. Communication with the host was fantastic! We would 100 percent stay here again and will the next time we go to Silverwood (about a 7 hr drive for us). Highly recommend this house for anyone coming to this area !

Fantastic quiet house off the beaten path

This was the perfect house for our family for our trip to Silverwood. It is about 15 minutes north of Silverwood, and pretty easy to find once you figure out where the turn is. The house itself is clean, had 3 bedrooms (2 upstairs, one downstairs) along with a couple of sofa sleepers which we didn't need. All the beds were very comfortable. It also included a gas grill and a DVD player and TV, although at the time of our stay did not have a microwave, as its an off-grid house. Not a big deal for me, I have lived without a microwave before. :) The owner told us we were about a week early for his power upgrade, so it will probably have one by the time this review appears. The host was very pleasant, responsive, and easy to work with. I would highly encourage any families looking for a nice, quiet house to take a serious look at this property!

This is a unique stay on a rural farm. Our kids were thrilled to visit with sheep, chickens, and two adorable farm dogs. The cabin itself is a full home, spacious and comfy. It is more unique and lived-in than the kind of vacation rental where everything is new and shiny, yet it is perfectly clean and has everything you could need and more. The three bedrooms and two bathrooms make it easy to stay for multiple days with a family. There were bookshelves in every room, filled with a charming array of classic novels, nonfiction, and vintage children's books. There are lots of toys for younger kids (though even my 10- and 13-year olds had a great time setting up the train track!) The access to Silverwood is very easy, and lovely Sandpoint is only 25 minutes in the other direction. There are other homes on the property, but everything was quiet and still felt private. We would absolutely stay here again when we come back to Silverwood.
