Fun farmhouse

Great house, great location. We enjoyed the house and all the fun touches in the decor. Being able to walk into town to eat and wine taste was a big plus. The porch and yard were where we spent most of our time enjoying the shade of the large trees and watching the neighbors go by.

Don't sleep on this gorgeous house!

My group of five high school friends from Atlanta (and one from Honolulu) rented the Carlton Farmhouse for a mini reunion. We loved absolutely everything about this house. This is the nicest and most thoughtfully appointed VRBO I've ever rented. The owners clearly take a lot of pride in it and it shows. Our favorite spaces: the comfortable bedrooms, the well stocked kitchen, the comfy living room for the one evening we stayed in to watch a movie, the wrap around porch, the gorgeous fenced in yard, and the enormous outdoor table, which was perfect for playing cards, eating dinner, and drinking wine. We loved being within walking distance of Carlton and took advantage of the tasting rooms, restaurants, bakeries, and shops. We felt so fortunate to be there on Carlton's Ladies Night - we had a blast and met some really lovely people. Live music, shopping discounts, and special deals on wine and bourbon tasting - yes please! Two of us are runners and we enjoyed seeing the little town on foot. Everyone was so friendly. On our last day in Carlton we heard lots of sirens so we walked up the street to see what was going on. Turns out it was a graduation parade for the high schoolers in Carlton! There were tons of emergency vehicles leading the parade, and spectators all along the roads cheering and throwing water balloons at the new graduates. Just a super fun hometown event that we didn't expect to be a part of, but we loved it! Highly recommend this gem in the Willamette Valley!

Lovely little country getaway.

A little gem in the quaint town of Carlton. Perfect for our group of 5 while we explored Oregon's beautiful wine country along with journeys to the Oregon's coast, the Tulip Festival, the Columbia River Gorge and it's magnificent waterfalls. We loved staying away from it all in this adorable home!

Girls Getaway

We had a wonderful girls weekend at the farmhouse in Carlton. It’s a great location, close to great wineries, good food and cute shops! It had the perfect layout, and was comfortable, even with 8 of us! The kitchen was well stocked, and the outdoor area was beautiful. We were very well taken care of, and would love to come back again as soon as we can make it happen! Thank you for making our girls getaway such a pleasure!

What a great house

Had a fantastic time at the Carlton Farmhouse. The house has been fully remodeled and is in incredible shape. The upgrades are everywhere, the interior design is spot on, and it includes everything you could ask for in a rental. It's quiet at night, offers some privacy from neighbors thanks to all of the landscaping, and is all of 2 blocks from downtown Carlton. Would 100% stay at this house again.

Spectacular home with easy access to local wineries!

This was the perfect get-a-away for three very busy working ladies. The house was exactly what we had hoped for and the location was a short distance to most local wineries in the area. The three bedrooms were large, loved having one of the full bathrooms on the main floor, and the amenities were all there! We sincerely appreciated the thoughtfulness that went into making this a great rental. I highly recommend the Carlton Farmhouse! The only disappointment was that our stay was too short!

Relaxing and casual.

The Farmhouse is perfect for larger groups who love to cook, relax, and enjoy wine. There are three bedrooms and a pull out couch in the loft. There are also two wine fridges. The kitchen had everything we needed - coffee, tea, spices, oils...it was not lacking anything we needed. We grilled on the BBQ one evening and made many breakfasts in the kitchen. In the mornings we would go for a walk. Heading south from the property is a large and beautiful park. We also walked all through the neighborhoods. A mini-mart is only a block away and so is a great Mexican restaurant. We love the Carlton public pool too. So much to do in such a small town. The best part of the house is sitting out on the covered porch in the evening and watching the sky turn color. The interior is just like the photos - beautiful. There's plenty of parking. There is also a cherry tree and raspberry bushes on the property. It was all well maintained. We hope to stay at the Farmhouse again for our next stay in Carlton.

Rest. Relax. Repeat.

In a word: sensational. We could not have imagined a better home base for our trip to Oregon. The Carlton Farmhouse, and the grounds surrounding it were simply picture perfect. We could walk to restaurants, shops, tasting rooms and more. The neighbors couldn't have been more friendly (and we're from the Deep South, so that's saying something). Access to the coast, the wine country and the sensational Oregon countryside was a breeze as well -- amazingly convenient. But the true star of the show was the farmhouse. Loved the charm, the cleanliness and the vibe. We will return with 100% certainty. Thank you for a lovely midsummer break from the Dallas heat.

Wonderful Rustic Home in Wine Country

I stayed here for a weekend with my family. The farmhouse has a lot of history and the new owners have persevered the history of the house while still adding their own personalities. It has the natural hardwood floors and the brick you see is all from when the house was originally built. The rooms are all decorated very nicely with a conversation piece in each room. However, each room does not have private closets. It does have a rack in the corner for you to hang things. A dresser. And bench/chest for you to put your suitcase on. I didn't foresee this being issue for my needs. There's so much to while staying in this beautiful house. It is only about an hour away from Portland and the Coast for an easy day trip. We didn't get a chance to head west towards the coast, but we did go into Portland/Vancouver to visit other family. The roads were very easy to navigate to get from the countryside to the city. If you are going for a wine tasting weekend there are many that are also less than an hour away. We when went we were able to visit Saffron Fields and still make it home in time for dinner! Honestly, you don't even need to leave the house/town to enjoy a weekend getaway. There's so much to do in town. And will really let you enjoy the slow paced lifestyle. The farmhouse is three blocks away from downtown Carlton. You can easily get to the Carlton Bakery for breakfast treats, the Barrel47 for pub-style food, and Cuvée for some well made French food. There are also many tasting rooms on Main Street such as Twelve which has some surprisingly nice pinots. If you need a break from Wine Country - there was also a pub/bar being built on Main Street about block away from the house! But, Don't be afraid to stay in and enjoy the house itself and the kind and eccentric neighborhood!

Five Star Farmhouse

The Carlton Farmhouse is a very charming getaway for friends and family. The house is just a short walk from local wine tasting rooms, quaint restaurants and shops. All the rooms are beautifully decorated and have all the amenities you need to enjoy your stay. Bedrooms are spacious with comfortable beds. Great kitchen with all the cooking utensils you need to prepare gourmet meals. I loved spending time in the lush yard, watching and listening to the birds. Keep your eyes open you will likely see other wild life. This cute farmhouse is everything I imagined and more. Can’t wait to visit this delightful farmhouse and town again!

Idyllic Getaway and Small Town Charm

We recently stayed at the Carlton Farmhouse for a weeklong get away to The Willamette Valley Wine Country in early March 2017. The house was perfectly located in the charming town of Carlton - and is situated on a quiet street corner just a little more than a block's walk onto Main Street and very close to the restaurants and wineries located in town. We enjoyed several afternoons strolling through the town and trying out the wineries and food selections! The wraparound, covered front porch was my favorite! There are several places to sit and drink a morning cup of coffee or sip on an afternoon glass of wine. We did both! The landscaping is truly beautiful. Flower bulbs were emerging everywhere and I could only imagine how nice it would be in the late spring and summer with everything in full bloom! The backyard has a large table which would be perfect for summer and fall al fresco dining. A grill is also available for guests use. There are several fruit trees in the backyard in the garden. Although it was still basically winter when we visited, I could see the potential of summer fruit and vegetables! The home inside has been stunningly refurbished. The interior has beautiful gray exposed shiplap siding and ceilings, which I really enjoyed seeing up close - having watched so many Fixer Upper shows on HGTV! The old hardwood floors are very charming as well. The interior of the house is quite spacious - with a large dining room that flows into the living room, making it a nice space for a group dinner or small gathering. The kitchen is well appointed with new appliances and everything you would need to cook meals. The master bath downstairs has a great look and feel. There is a large bathtub and separate shower - kudos for good water pressure too! The three upstairs bedrooms are good sized with very comfortable mattresses and soft bedding. Lots of pillows are available! Just FYI, there are no closets - but there are hanging racks dressers to store your clothes The bathroom upstairs, although smaller than the ground floor bathroom, also has a shower/tub. Nice towels and soaps and I was happy with the lighting in both bathrooms! All in all, we thought this house was a great find and would love to visit again! It's a very quick trip to Newberg, Dundee, and McMinnville for more adventures!
