Pleasure Island (Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Fort Fisher) has become a RAPIDLY increasing vacation (and full-time!) destination for the East coast and beyond for many reasons. It’s a family-oriented beach with a touch of everything one might be looking for! It’s an AMAZING place to visit, live, and never leave!
The suite is in the heart of Carolina Beach and walking distance to downtown and everything that is has to offer. In Carolina Beach you’ve got the boardwalk, restaurants, and local shops of all kinds. If you like adventures, the marina is also there where you can take an offshore fishing trip, diving excursion, or party boat out for a sunset sail. Camping more your thing? Bring the 4X4 and drive (and camp) on the beach at Freeman Park, located on the North End of the island. You can also head down to Kure Beach and fish directly off their fishing pier compete with bait, tackles, and more!

We welcome you to sit back, relax and enjoy yourselves because that's exactly what the beach is for!
These suites are a mixture of the original “period” construction and old-world charm, a kiss of shabby-chic modernity, and today’s technology because hey, there’s got to be something for everyone! Each suite has its own distinct traits, quirks, and characteristics. Above all else, it should feel like your “home away from home” while vacationing with us on our Island!
The entry to this 1 bedroom, 1 bath suite opens into a newly furnished family room combined with an open dining area and fully equipped kitchen (stove oven, refrigerator). The kitchen is stocked will all the basic cooking and dining utensils one can expect (plates, bowls, cups, silverware, etc.). In addition, there is a microwave, toaster, coffer maker and blender ready to help make yourself at home (while on Vacay!).
1 courtesy soap, shampoo and conditioner are left in the bathroom of each home as well as 2 rolls of TP per bath, 1 makeup wipe and one backup toothbrush. 1 roll of paper towel, a sponge, dish soap, 2 trash bags per receptacle and (*as applicable) 3 dishwasher and laundry pods will be available to use if needed!
The unit's ONE QUEEN and ONE TWIN over TWIN bunk bed consists of either a plush luxury mattress or a new encased 8” memory foam/cooling gel composition mattress because we want all of our guests to be comfortable when it comes time to recharge.
1 set of the following will be made on a per bed/per person basis to help you be comfortable on your adventure! Bed sheets (fitted/flat set), bath towels, wash cloths, cleaning rags, pillowcases, bathmats and kitchen towels. Laundering or extra sets are not an available service regrettably. Please make sure all used linens are placed in one location in the home at departure. Please let all BED LINENS remain on the beds for our TEAM to take care of! A sincere thanks for your help and we hope that YOU have an AMAZING ADVENTURE!
There is one smart TV in each suite to utilize one's personal subscriptions (such as Netflix or Hulu) along with a WIFI computer connection for when it's time to sit back and enjoy some movies or shows after a long day at the beach!
The outdoor shower is located on the lower right of the building to help get that sand off of those toes!
Guest access
The SUITE: Guests have full access to their own private SUITE (never shared) along with a portion of a respective deck, patio, or balcony.
PARKING: Each reservation will have access to (1) ONE 8'x14' assigned parking space. Suite two parks in the main lot off of Lake Park S while suites 3 and 4 must use CB ave S and park atop the property. Guests driving "oversized vehicles" (from SUVs to pickups) may have issues fitting comfortably.
•Closest BEACH access: Lake Public Beach Access (Lake Drive).

I will be available for check-in and general assistance until 8PM EST. Anything with the exception of an emergency (ie. flood, fire, or another *safety* related risk sent to Maintenance) will be responded to ASAP the following day :)
Neighborhood description
Pleasure Island is a coastal barrier island in Southeastern North Carolina, USA just south of the City of Wilmington. Pleasure Island is located within Federal Point Township, in New Hanover County. The coastal resort towns of Carolina Beach and Kure Beach, as well as the annexed communities of Wilmington Beach and Hanby Beach are located on the island. The building itself is one row away from the ocean, and two rows in from the Intracoastal Waterway. The property is set four blocks from downtown Carolina Beach with its shops, activities, and dining.
Carolina Beach is a mix of friendly locals, snowbirds, and vacationers all looking to escape the inland and enjoy the sand, surf, and sun. We truly have an amazing community! Carolina Beach and the surrounding neighborhoods offer an array of sights and activities to enjoy while here. Some of these examples are (but not limited to) a subtle beach hike through Carolina Beach State Park, Fishing on the Kure Beach Pier, kayaking to one of the many islands surrounding the Intracoastal Waterway, watching canons blast during a historical reenactment at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, or petting some Sting Rays at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.
This doesn’t even include the aweing scenery of Airlie Gardens, and our very own battleship (USS NC) in Wilmington! Perhaps more relaxing and less “adventure” is your speed? Our own local Brewery (Good Hops) along with a round of Frisbee golf may be what the doctor ordered!
Getting around
There isn’t anywhere or anything on our Island that isn’t accessible with foot power. Downtown Carolina Beach has several vendors such as Tony Silvagni’s Surf School @ 308 S Lake Park Blvd, Carolina Beach, NC 28428 (bicycles, paddleboards, surfboards, kayaks, chairs, and umbrellas) for rent as an alternative to walking or driving. There's Sun Fun Rentals @1204 N Lake Park Blvd Unit F Carolina Beach, NC 28428. Taxi’s (local golf cart taxi’s) and Uber’s are also generally available for an assist when needed as well throughout the island! You can catch a Ferry to Southport in Kure Beach @ 2422 Fort Fisher Blvd S Kure Beach which leads to another ferry to Bald Head Island where NO CARS are allowed at all!
After all, you won’t catch many locals going OTB! (Over The Bridge). Everything you need is right here!

•The Town of Carolina Beach offers multiple public parking options to visitors and residents on a FIRST COME-FIRST SERVE basis. Town-operated parking is open year round and paid parking is enforced March 1st - October 31st from 9AM - 8PM. Parking fees restart each morning during enforcement hours for all of the Town's parking lots and on-street parking spaces.
•PARKING RATES: *(Parking rates are approved annually and are subject to change) March 1st - October 31st, 9AM - 8PM Parking Lots $ 6/hour or $25/day Premium Parking Lots $ 7/hour or $35/day Bus, Limo, and oversized vehicle $10/hour or $40/day On-Street Parking: Without Time Restrictions $ 5/hour With Time Restrictions $ 5/hour Weekly Parking Permits $100 Available for purchase at Town Hall, the Parking Office (open 7 days a week) and online.
GOLF CARTS
•To the county, golf carts are considered automobiles. Generally speaking, golf carts are NOT allowed on premises of ANY condo, condotel, or apartment. The same goes for trailers, motorcycles, etc. For SFR’s or properties supporting multiple vehicles, carts should be OK. However, be conscious that few homes have external outlets WITHOUT GFCI’S (which are code by today’s standards). Charging a cart on a GFCI will immediately trip the breaker, resulting in the inability to charge a cart amongst other repercussions. Gas carts will generally be the ideal rental option if in a home whose parking supports such.
•ALL suites are non-smoking (including vaping) and a heavy cleaning/repair charge can result if not adhered to. This includes porches, decks, balconies, and walkways. Please smoke well away from any SWRE property unless willing to risk the potential loss of deposit or more.
•NO BBQing on ANY decks or porches. This is a huge fire hazard and is fineable by the town (as is removing batteries from any smoke or co2 alarms). We work extremely hard to keep all our guests safe, and sometimes that takes teamwork!
•Please always consider TRAVEL INSURANCE from your respective booking site or vendor to help protect your costs in case of inclement weather or last-minute travel complications (court, illness, etc.). These items are NOT refundable scenarios unless the property itself is compromised.

Me and my sons do things from Wilmington to Southport on our Vacations. This location falls between the two and allows us to walk to just about everything Carolina Beach offers. We love it, this was not our first stay at this property and won’t be our last.
Location is amazing. Place is very basic but clean. Make sure you read the expectations and remember them before packing. We got mixed up with some other places we had seen and made some wrong assumptions, but that was our fault. Try the shakes at the veggie place across the street. So good. The beach is so great also
The property is exactly as advertised! Steps from public beach access and across the street from a great walking trail around a lake. Half a mile from the boardwalk. Great location! We had a lovely time at this location!
Quaint little property. Perfect launch pad for a stay at the beach, w/ beach access almost directly across the street. Simple place w/ all of the essentials for the 4 of us. Within walking distance of the neighboring boardwalk and restaurants.
I had a great stay here! Only wish I could've stayed longer! I will start making it a regular annual visit for myself! The place was quiet and location was fantastic. Dale was awesome to work with and very responsive. Can't wait to come back!
We had a GREAT stay! The unit was clean and comfortable, it was larger than we had expected. The kitchen is extremely well stocked. The host was very communicative and helpful. The beach on one side and The Veggie Wagon on the other, couldn't ask for a better location! Can't wait to come back!
We go to the beach almost every year and I am so happy with how this year turned out ! Everything was clean , the host was amazing, he always responded in a timely manner and was super helpful! If we go to this area again we will definitely book again!!
Very easy to find and get into. Had everything we need and more. The property manager was very helpful and accommodating. We looked at the other properties owned by the same company around the same area and plan to check out more of them.
We had a great vacation. 1st time to Carolina Beach. Your place was wonderful. The convenience to the beach and downtown was awesome. The place was well maintained and exactly as described and pictured. Well worth the price I paid. The one thing I recommend is a curtain in the bedroom because the sun tends to wake you up early if you want to sleep in. Other than we were very happy with our stay. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you.
We typically always stay in Wilmington. But we decided to switch things up a bit and it’s safe to say Carolina beach is now our place! The property was so close to the beach - just a 2 minute walk if that. The spot was so clean and much bigger than we anticipated (always a bonus) I have no complaints, and I’ll be sure to always book through this rental!!!! Thank you for an amazing place!
My daughter and I took our first beach vacation together this past week and had a fantastic time! We really enjoyed the location of the condo. It’s right across the street from the beach and the small deck off the back was great for watching the sunsets over the lake. The board walk is only a few blocks away too. We spent most of our evenings enjoying the boardwalk, shopping and yummy treats.
We had a couple of issues come up but they were taken care of immediately by the property manager. He was very responsive and made sure we were settled and happy with the condo.
If you’re looking for a great location to enjoy all of CB, this is it.
Stayed for 3 nights. Found bugs each morning. Hair in the shower wasn’t cleaned. Overall avg. value at best for the area and selection….make sure you remember to read the fine print and bring a towel and bedding! Unreal
