Great apartment!! Everything we needed. Great location!
This was a clean, well kept apartment with all that we needed. The location was perfect for visiting Galway, Connemara peninsula and the Aran Islands. The owner is lovely and was very helpful. I would highly recommend this place. I would stay there again if I was ever back in the area!

The owner did not show up to meet us and we did not get the keys.She refused to refund our payment.
I had asked the owner twice to provide an address and a specific time to pick up the keys but never did receive a specific address or a time that I could pick them up. The owner’s response to my requests was to meet her at the Carraroe village pharmacy to get the keys after our arrival in Connemara. I informed the owner at 10:03 that morning that we were departing from Donegal and she responded that the apartment should be ready by the time we arrived. Given that the drive from Donegal to Carraroe is ~3 hours it was reasonable that she should have expected my call that afternoon. After calling her I waited at the pharmacy as instructed. I then followed up with another call and a text at 3:19 , followed by another text at 3:37 and continued to wait another 10 minutes with no response and realized I would not be able to collect the keys and have access to the apartment by 4pm and having no confidence that the owner would show up I sent her a text stating that I considered the contract void. When she finally contacted me several minutes later I also stated over the phone that I considered the contract to be void and she did not at any time in our conversation or in a text indicate that she disagreed that the contract was void. I also tried to contact Connemara Lettings but the office was closed and no one picked up the call nor did they have an after-hours number so that we could get in touch with them. Since the owner did not refute that the contract was void, I then rented hotel rooms. I also incurred over $200 in international roaming charges to find and book the hotel rooms . Now the owner is refusing to refund the payments that we made. I had asked repeatedly for an address and a specific time to pick up the keys which is a standard process for renting a property. It was not reasonable that the owner did not provide an address or specific time to pick up the keys and that she should expect me to wait outside a pharmacy in cold and rainy weather for 40 minutes looking for a woman that I had never met. If the owner was not in agreement that the contract was void she should have stated such. Also, there was no possible way given the time of my last text at 3:47 and our phone call discussion ending at ~3:55 that she could drive to the pharmacy and meet me in time to provide the keys and I could get into the apartment by 4pm. I’ve never encountered anything like this when renting homes and found this experience horrible.

Dear Patti As discussed on many occasions you were provided with the owners contact details along with full address and Eircode 6 weeks prior to your arrival. The key collections details clearly state that check-in time is from 16:00. The apartment was ready for your arrival at 16:00 as per your contract. Unfortunately, the owner had to have her phone on silent for approx 30 mins prior to your agreed time of arrival and missed your phone calls, however, at approx 15:50 the owner contacted you to arrange to give you a set of keys to the property but you refused to stay. The owner contacted Connemara Holiday Lettings at 16;05 to inform us of the situation and that you did not wish to stay in the property. We in turn tried calling your mobile but could not get through. We then followed this with an email confirming the situation and to confirm that you did not wish to stay in the property and that as you cancelled your reservation you would not receive a refund. Connemara Holiday Lettings only received a voicemail from you at 19:00 on 11th August informing us that you could not gain access to the property and that you would have to stay in a hotel. At no time prior to this did we receive a voicemail or email informing us that you could not gain access. Our office phone system has an answering machine facility which forwards an email to notify us that there is a message allowing us to always keep in contact with our customers/clients. We are sorry that the owner did not have her phone switched on for 30 minutes throughout that day, however, she did contact you prior to check-in time and the property was ready for the agreed time per your contract. The owner was only next door to the apartment and would have given you access to the apartment at the agreed time. Connemara Holiday Lettings strive to provide an excellent customer service, in this case, we have been very fair and looked into the situation thoroughly and the facts are, the owner had the property ready as promised for the time that was agreed in the contract and you cancelled your reservation therefore as stated, we cannot provide a refund. Enttäuschende Ferienwohnung ...
Als "atemberaubend" und "stilvoll" können wir dieses Objekt leider nicht bezeichnen und waren enttäuscht über den Zustand der Wohnung. Die Fotos im Internet versprachen mehr als die Wohnung dann hielt: ein Teil des Sofas im Wohnzimmer hing auf dem Boden, da die Aufhängung herausgebrochen war, ein Toilettenaufsatz fehlte bei Ankunft, eine Lampe war defekt, der WLAN-Anschluß war doch nicht kostenlos wie in der Beschreibung hinterlegt (ein Übersetzungsfehler lt. Vermieterin), der Grillplatz war voller Zigarettenstummel und wenig einladend, der Ausblick aus einigen Fenstern eher abschreckend (Parkplatz, verkommendes Grundstück), das Eisfach war zugefroren und Schubladen teilweise defekt, Schrankknöpfe fehlten, uvm.! Einziger Pluspunkt - die Wohnung war sauber. Kinderfreundlich waren die Treppen zum Obergeschoss nicht. Aufgrund der Beschreibung / Fotos, der bisherigen Bewertungen und dem - im Vergleich - höheren Preis, hatten wir hohe Erwartungen. Leider wurden wir tief enttäuscht. Mit ein wenig Wartungsaufwand könnte man den Zustand verbessern.

With regards to the Wifi as explained when you contacted us, we have been in contact with HomeAway and they investigated into the advertisement, they came back and informed us that it was showing the Pay as you go Wifi and were unable to tell us where you were shown there was free Wifi in this property. They have ensured us they will investigate further to make sure this does not occur again. Had you brought to our attention the other issues you had at the property whilst you were there we would have been in a position to have them dealt with for you straight away. Danke für den schönen Urlaub...
Es ist alles wie in der Beschreibung der Wohnung angegeben. Sehr nette Vermieterin, es fehlt nichts in der Einrichtung, Betten traumhaft, Küche ebenso... Pub und Supermarkt in 2 Minuten zu Fuss erreichbar...es gibt hier keinerlei bemerkenswerte Mängel...Vielen dank für einen schönen Urlaub
