We had about 30 members of my family, including 4 generations, on the property for our annual week long family vacation. We ended up renting all 3 houses to accommodate everyone. The main house is comfortable with lots of parking, great kitchen and adjoining room with another big refrigerator where we set up the bar. Each night another sibling cooks dinner, and the kitchen was conducive to group preparation without feeling cramped. The steps upstairs are wide and the bedrooms are large, with lots of places on the main floor for small groups to gather, and a great game room downstairs for ping pong, pool, Risk, and the video gamers to have noisy fun without unleashing chaos among the elders upstairs.
Best thing is the lot itself, with 3 fire pits and a grassy hill that the main house sits on with a steep but walkable 30 second walk to the beach. The beach is sandy, with rocks as you get further out, but 3 kayaks were in constant use and the wee tots loved the lake, which is huge and inspiring.
The house is well lived in and casual, and feels like a home rather than a pristine palace with oppressive rules. The beach house is perfect for a quick break from the lake, and for putting the young adults in. The 3rd house, cottage A, worked out great as a quiet refuge from the youngsters for the octogenarians.
Great golf in the area with Verona Hills and Ubly Heights well worth the drive, and don't miss the kayak from Port Austin to Turnip Rock.
