"Please don’t book this place we had a horrible experience. I paid for my son and wife to visit Costa Rica we never stayed at an all inclusive and this was the worse place ever. Pictures are 16 years old. Location is beautiful but the hotel, food , and staff was not something I paid for. This is false pretense I paid 5k for 4 people and I regret the trip. We had to eat out most of the time, they left out the food all day. Hot dog sat all day in a tray. Pool tiles coming apart, rooms outdated. I give this place a -0 Expedia needs to fake this place off site it’s selling under false pretense. A family from another country was upset when they seen what they paid for and I’m not sure if they were able to resolve it. We had to make the best of it. I will be getting a hold of Expedia someone needs to answer for this. We paid a lot of money for this vacation that was a horrible stay. I took pictures I hope I can upload "

"The W hotel did not disappoint phenomenon, property with privacy and all the things to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Excellent food, great service the rooms and the views are phenomenal. Family pool with the beach was a huge hit with our kids."

"Many of the rooms on this property have zero view of the garden/ocean. We were a big group and booked 4 rooms with each of us paying for a garden view. Two of the rooms we were alloted had no view. Ours faced the parking lot and one of the other room had their balcony facing another balcony. They should not be advertising these rooms as garden view. Its false advertising and misleading. "

"The negatives: The only option to eat was the restaurant, nowhere else delivered so we had to eat there. We had very poor service at the restaurant and the food was not good and very expensive for what it was. After we ate it took about 30 minutes just to get the bill. The hotel room was fine but I found it too expensive. The positives were the check in staff were very nice. It was nice they held our luggage when our room wasn’t ready yet, and the shuttle was great. "

"Miss the à la cart restaurants. Riu’s are better than buffets in all restaurants but one. "

"Great beach. Coarse shell sand but still ok on bare feet. Not overly busy and right off the resort. Waves not really big enough to boogie board on but good for smaller kids to play. Pool is very nice with lots of lounging areas. Entertainment area with pool tables, ping pong and fooseball - great for kids/teens. Spacious and quiet rooms with great amenities. Animals on the resort are a highlight (iguanas, monkeys, raccoons). Food was excellent with nice variety and good quality. Staff was helpful and friendly. No complaints other than our check in was very slow."
